BTS on this week's post for my FB pals. Just like the review I wrote about Bad Boys 4, this isn't as much about the new iPhone although I do touch on it.
I think the inspiration for this one came when a coyote ran across the street in front of my in Hollywood. He seemed happy. Or at least happier than a lot of people who are both looking for work and also being inundated with how advancements in tech will make our lives better, all while there's a gnawing in the back of our heads that these advancements might be like the glasses in They Live. Sure they let you see things. But once you see them, and you realize what they are, now what?
anyway...

if you would like to know more.
If you haven't read yesterday's post yet, here's some BTS for my FB friends to help encourage you.
I was writing about Rob Reiner and it's the first of some letters I want to write to people that have amazed and inspired me over the years I've been doing the work I do. I think when I was younger I just assumed I'd be able to meet all these heroes and break bread with them, and share with them.
I've met and worked with so many of them, so I'm not saying it didn't work out, but I will say that there are some giants that I really want to say thank you to, and so I'm going to start publishing those little letters every so often.
Who is a hero of yours that you haven't been able to connect with?
BTS from Friday's Post.
My friend and I had a game we would play on the way home from set in Albuquerque called, "That's Not Yours." We'd see someone on the street walking real fast with something. A car seat, a sink, some copper wire, tools, etc. And we'd debate, "Is that their stuff?" Or de we get to say, "That's Not Yours." Now you can go read more if you haven't.
Friday means new stuff. And it's summer so this is needed. Turn up the volume and READ REAL LOUD!

Friday means new stuff. Almost like Wednesday means new comics.
Some BTS for my FB fam. But please go read the post.
Another tradition with Joaquin and I has always been to check out movies when we've been on our cross country drives. We love going to small town movie theaters to see whatever is there. Not sure when we started doing that, but I remember once going to a movie somewhere in Georgia where the theater had the entire front section of seats removed and in a pile in the corner. Don't remember the movie, but remember the pile of seats.
Go read the post.
Happy Monday. Back at it, today. Let's Go.
Happy Holiday Weekend. Want to keep up my schedule. So here you go. A special BTS to entice you to read this one if you don't subscribe already.
On the night I write about in the story in the middle of today's post, after the events, I drove the rest of the way to the beach at night and walked out onto the pier. I think I was trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life if writing went away. And like a lot of times when I have these sort of "Black Dog" moments, my grandma's words to me about the time I almost died when I was a baby came into my head, "Well, someone must've wanted you to stick around to make a difference to people in someway." Really loved her. She was a great person who made a difference to me.
Music for a Friday. Read it. And then go listen to something you haven't thought of in a while.
Come join the fun.
Charging hard for some strong finishes this month. This one's about a few things, but also about books on writing.
End of an odd week. All good. But still, odd. Glad I could share this, though. Two months and counting here. If you haven't jumped over to it yet, do. My time here and on X and Insta is probably going to fade, soon. I'll be here though, if you want.
about to settle in for some rains out here. Wrote about being a student and getting lost trying to find class. Take a look, if you are so inclined. See you all on the other side of the storm!
Big Week. Let's turn it into some good momentum.
❤️
