Stefani is the first Black woman to receive Emmy nominations for both “Outstanding Comedy Series” and “Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series” and has won two Writers Guild of America awards. Her first feature film Chevalier Movie was released in theaters by Searchlight Pictures in April of 2023. She will discuss Emerson, her professional journey, and share advice for anyone looking to make a career in comedy/entertainment. Light refreshments and drinks will be served!

Academy Awards Internship Takes Brooks ’24 Behind the Scenes - Emerson Today On the day of the Oscars, Brooks helped with run-throughs and rehearsals of the show.

Did you watch the Oscars last night? A few of our students participated in the Oscars Red Carpet Roll as well as a virtual Press Conference. And some went behind the scenes ahead of the big show! 🙌🙌

It’s been a great week of events on and off campus!
- The Bachelor Executive Producer Bennett Graebner and current Bachelor Joey joined us for an Industry Insights lunch to discuss reality TV.
- We hosted the 9th annual Oscar Talk event, which featured a handful of our faculty, as well as one of our students and alum, on the panels.
- Students had the chance to attend a live taping of After Midnight on the Paramount Studios lot and chat with producer Gary Snoonian ‘99 afterwards.
- We hosted an event featuring cast members from the TV show Warrior, including alumnus Chen Tang ‘10.

This semester, eight students participated in the inaugural Comedic Arts Comedy Conservatory program, where juniors spend a semester at Emerson LA studying comedy writing, performance, and production, all while tapping into the vast network of industry resources and professionals unique to LA.
