Students perform for 1/2 time shows including previously LA Kings, Clippers, Globetrotters, Nike 3 on 3, competitions, Knotts Berry Farm and more. Must be available Saturdays 2:45-4:30 rehearsals and training with coaches ._.nicole

NEW FACULTY SPOTLIGHT: Please help us give a warm welcome to who will be teaching Saturdays Level 1,2,3 ballet and subbing various classes.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Katey Besser grew up training in various styles at the Performing Arts Center in Van Nuys. She recently graduated from the University of Michigan with a double major BFA in Dance and BS in Kinesiology. During this time she performed works by Shannon Gillen, Sidra Bell, and Charli Brissey. She fell in love with choreography and has created numerous interdisciplinary works for live performance, film and has produced several shows. While at school she joined a ballet company as well as served in leadership roles for the Department of Dance Student Assembly including President, Secretary and Social Media chair. She enhanced her training by attending intensives including Springboard Danse Montreal, Joffrey Ballet Chicago, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, and Laguna Dance Festival.

Currently Katey works as a freelance dancer and certified personal trainer. She founded “BackStage Fitness” to bridge the gap between dance and athletic training principles in hopes to inspire, educate, and support dancers for longevity and injury prevention in their performance careers. Katey aspires to create welcoming environments in her classes to encourage her students to share, create, learn, and inspire through the power of dance. She is excited to share her love and passion for dance with her students.

NEW FACULTY ANNOUNCEMENT: We are very excited to welcome Irene Yacoub .yacoub grew up in Cairo, Egypt where she studied at The Cairo Opera Ballet. Following years of training, she became a member of their corps de ballet at the age of 16. Her classical repertoire includes Swan Lake and The Nutcracker.

Yacoub received her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from McGill University and continued her training at Ballet Divertimento, École Supérieure de Ballet du Québec and Ballet Jörgen. While living in Montreal and becoming fluent in French, she danced with several companies, including Ballet Ouest and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens.

Yacoub’s passion for ballet evolved into a desire to educate. She received her Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies from the Royal Academy of Dance and has successfully enrolled several of her students in both graded and vocational exams as well as Solo Seal. Yacoub has educated and developed students at several schools across Canada, including the prestigious Goh Ballet Academy, and is now beginning to stretch her experience to the United States.
Yacoub is fully certified in the ABT National Training Curriculum and was on the faculty of the ABT Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School Children’s Division. She is very excited to bring her expertise and passion for ballet to her current students.

Congratulations to our student Emma who is this years recipient of the Rei Aoo and memorial scholarship.

Emma has been training at Degas Dance Studio since she was about 6yrs old. She has had unwavering dedication and work ethic. She is a kind and passionate dancer, artist and teammate.

It is with great honor that we give this memorial scholarship to Emma this year and we look forward to seeing her grow from this experience and opportunity.

I am looking for a college Marketing intern for Degas Dance Franchise and both Degas Dance Studios 6-8 weeks summer starting June 1st. As well as next fall starting September 1st.

Morgan Quinn is a movement artist from Los Angeles. Her training started in classical ballet with her mother Wendy Quinn and continued with Patrick Frantz,
former Premier Danseur with Paris Opera Ballet. She has attended schools such as Boston Ballet, The Rock School, ABT, Miami City Ballet, and San Francisco
Ballet. She now explores dancing in many different styles of dance and showcases her movement in television & film, music videos, commercials, print and live performances.

Morgan will be teaching NEW TUESDAY classes starting January 30th.

Congratulations to our student Paige who is this years recipient of the Rei Aoo and memorial scholarship.

Paige has an unrivaled passion and determination for ballet. She takes every class available to her and more. She has always dreamed of performing a variation and this will be her first experience. We are so happy to see this dream come true and to help her achieve this goal. Paige was a student of Wendy’s and cared deeply for her. We know that her and Rei would be smiling and so proud to play a role in this journey.

Due to budget restraints we have had to reduce the private coaching to once a month but it was very important to us to keep this program and their memories alive. She will receive monthly one hour coaching with .sargsyan.official during the competitive season.

It is with great honor that we give this memorial scholarship to Paige this year and look forward to seeing her up on the stage.

Tigran Sargsyan began his dance studies at the Yerevan Choreographic Dance College in Armenia. In 2011 Tigran was offered a scholarship under “TheRudolfNureyevFoundation” to continue his education at Dance Academy of Zurich in Switzerland where he was trained and coached by Oliver Matz. In 2013 Tigran competed at the international ballet competition "Prix de Lausanne", and was awarded a full- scholarship to attend "San Francisco Ballet School" Summer Program.

In 2014 Tigran joined Dortmund Ballet Theater in Germany, where he danced for two seasons. He then moved to Los Angeles to dance with Los Angeles Ballet as a Principal Dancer. He has danced many lead roles such as:
Prince in “The Nutcracker”, Prince Siegfried in “Swan Lake”, Prince Desire in “Sleeping Beauty”, Principal Man in George Balanchine’s “Who Cares” and many more.

Tigran has worked with many known choreographers such as W. Forsythe, A. Ekman, J. Kylian, C. Spuck, J. Bubenicek, Alejandro Cerrudo, Azure Barton, Patricia Neary, Colleen Neary and Thordal Christensen.
Currently Tigran is a freelance Principal Dancer and teaches in Los Angeles.

We are very happy to have him on our faculty team. Please give him a warm welcome.
