Applications for Mobility Wallet Phase II Pilot Are Open

Applications for Metro's Mobility Wallet Phase II pilot program are open until August. Participants in Phase II can receive up to $1,800 to spend with the Mobility Wallet, a prepaid debit card that recipients can use for various transportation services, including transit, taxis, ride shares, intercity bus and rail, shared scooters and bikes, and purchases at bike shops.
To qualify:

You must be at least 18 years old.
You must live in the Los Angeles County
You must not have previously participated in Phase I of the pilot
You must meet the program’s household annual income requirement, which is based on the LIFE (Low Income Fare is Easy) program

The Social Security Administration (SSA) recently finalized three Supplemental Security Income (SSI) rules that will reduce barriers and expand access to SSI.

The three rules make changes in the definition of a “public assistance” household, end the practice of counting food from certain sources as income, and expand the rental subsidy rule. All three rules will go into effect on September 30, 2024.
