The Post Conviction Justice Project at USC Gould School of Law, led by Professors Heidi Rummel and Michael Parente, have been awarded a $280,000 RIGHT grant from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

New Addition to USC Gould!

We are pleased to announce that Cristina Romero has joined the law school as the Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Communications. She comes to us from Kaufman Legal Group, where she served as a political accounts supervisor, managing political campaigns and compliance programs for elected officials. In addition, she served as a project director for the AARP Foundation, overseeing operations for the Corporation for National and Community Service’s Retired and Senior Volunteer and Outreach Program in Greater San Gabriel Valley.

Cristina holds a degree in Communications from USC Annenberg. She is an active volunteer with the American Society on Aging and she has also contributed her time to the Jade Love Kids Foundation and the Kidspace Children’s Museum.

Welcome Tomer Kenneth as he joins as a Visiting Assistant Professor. He studies decision-making about facts in law and politics, and his primary research areas include evidence, legal theory, political theory, and law and technology. At USC, Kenneth teaches courses in evidence and judicial decision-making.

Congratulations to Professor Bernadette Atuahene, whose paper "A Theory of Stategraft," won Law and Society Association's 2024 Article Prize.

Every summer, LSA honors leading international scholars for their groundbreaking publications and contributions to the study of law and society. According to LSA, Atuahene's paper "builds a theory of Stategraft to define and interrogate what happens when the state takes property from individuals in violation of state laws and human rights."
