If your dog goes to a daycare or boarding facility, make sure they are up to date on the vaccines for upper respiratory illnesses: Bordetella, Parainfluenza and Adenovirus. Intranasal vaccines are best, with 6 month boosters.

Pet owners, it's time to get much more protective of your four legged kids. Especially the cute little ones! French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers and Pugs are being stolen lately! They are being sold to new owners, research labs, dog fight organizers, and people who want to torture and kill them for entertainment.

People are stealing these dogs from cars parked at gas stations while their owners run in to pay for gas. People are waiting in these parking lots to steal these dogs. TAKE YOUR DOGS WITH YOU! (This actually makes me wonder why you can't pay at the pump at some gas stations...)

People are stealing these dogs at gunpoint on the street, with the cover of darkness. DON'T WALK YOUR DOGS AT NIGHT.

People are stealing dogs from yards too, when the owners are nowhere in sight. DON'T LEAVE YOUR DOGS ALONE IN YOUR YARD DURING THE DAY!

If you own a small, cute dog, please use common sense and do not leave them unattended! If this sounds paranoid as hell and scares you, I HOPE SO! The upside is that you won't wake up in the middle of the night, regretting your pet's mysterious loss.

Over 800 reported confirmed and suspected cases and 7 reported deaths in LA County. 2 animal shelters affected. Spreading rapidly at pet boarding and daycare facilities located throughout the county. Some pets have been infected at dog parks, while on walks, and where they come near other dogs. Cases of CIV H3N2 are being reported in the surrounding counties as well. The Pencil Cactus, known as Euphorbia tirucalli, is toxic to humans and dogs worldwide as it contains a milky substance capable of causing serious gastrointestinal, ocular, and dermal injury.
