This year is the 10th anniversary of Refuge Recovery! At this year's annual conference, June 14-16, we will gather in the Santa Cruz CA mountains. The schedule will be a mixture of Refuge meetings, meditations, discussion (a little business) and activities. We will dine together, meditate together, and have some fun together. It is our yearly chance to gather with the greater community and connect to deepen our experience of recovery in our growing community.
Please join us for the weekend at the annual celebration of our program. On Saturday night we will have a private screening of a 20-30 minute version of GETTING FREE, the upcoming feature documentary about Refuge Recovery.
Be ready to hike, swim, meditate, karaoke and chill by the campfire.

We hope to spend a fun weekend with as many of you as possible June 14-16 for the 10th annual Refuge Recovery conference in beautiful Santa Cruz! This will be a historic occasion as we mark the first decade of the first Buddhist-oriented recovery program ever. See link below. Please note that scholarships are available. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. The only danger of being turned away is if you don't sign up in time to secure a space! Carpools from LA are also being organized. The conference will include a private screening of a 20-30 minute version of GETTING FREE, the upcoming full-length documentary film about Refuge. The film is narrated by Peter Coyote, with special guest Ajahn Amaro. The "stars" of the movie include several members of our LA sangha, as well as RR peeps from around the country and the world.
P.S. This is not a silent retreat! Talking and laughing and having fun are not only allowed, but required!

Refuge Recovery is a free, Buddhist-inspired, non-theistic, peer-led recovery program that does not ask anyone to believe anything, only to follow the process and do the hard work of recovery. This program provides a systematic approach to recovering from all forms of addiction. When sincerely practiced, it can ensure a full recovery and a lifelong sense of well-being and ease. Our understanding is that recovery is a process of healing the underlying conditions that lead to addiction. In Refuge Recovery, we are developing the ability to inhabit the conditions of our present reality, whether pleasant or unpleasant. See www.refugerecovery.org for more information.
