took this pic of me nearly 7 years ago in my first location. She’s the only person I’ve trusted to shoot me in my studio it’s a very safe space for me and the mind has a hard time trying to look ok and create at the same time. My hair was a mess, this dress a hundred years old and covered in dye, but that’s what I look like in the studio. If you see me a mess in the shop with dye stains on my fingernails or makeup off, hair all wild, you know I was in the studio before you saw me, doing something crazy and hopefully having a something I’m proud to sell to you! Most of our customers aren’t aware that we design and sew a ton of our garments right above our Eagle Rock shop, and then we ship them to boutiques across the country! Weekends we host classes in the studio while I’m on the floor chatting up customers and getting my social time so I don’t turn into a hobbit women. If you pop into eagle rock you might even get a tour of the studio!

Guys I’m so sorry for all the posts but VDPR looms deep in my Haley Solar the brand origin story. 8 years ago in the deepest depression I’ve ever felt, I started my life over at 32. I needed a break from my own bad choices and the drama of Hollywood & the fashion world. I got a job waiting tables fully inspired by this sh*t-show. The vdpr cast were messy and and lost and I felt like I was too. Their gross apartments and terrible choices in partners were totally relatable and got me out of bed when everything seemed too tough. The break I took from my career inspired me to build a better life and bonus..I met my husband at that restaurant. . The world is dark and scary but these people are here to bring us joy and gossip and scandal and the drama we all need right now. Raise your glasses high and cheers to this cast. You’re doing the lord’s work.
