ZMC Designs by Aviva
ZMC Designs produces custom invitations and Bar/Bat Mitzvah prayerbooks. Humorous quips by Aviva in my "Jewishly Speaking" Blog. http://www.ZMCDesigns.com
ZMC writes traditional and creative services for every stage of life and publishes them in-house, keeping your cost at a minimum. We develop services with traditional liturgy as well as fully creative content. Service books need not include any formal prayers and may simply be a guide for guests to the ebb and flow of the rituals they are witnessing. Service books run the gamut from B’nai Mitzvah

Choosing a Wedding Theme - The Wedding Notebook magazine Venue - The venue is not just a place, but also a setting for your wedding. Sometimes the venue might dictate your wedding theme. For example, if you plan to have your wedding in a medieval castle like the couple here in The Tuscan Castle, you can have a medieval or glamorous theme. Era - Think abou…

Yom Yerushalayim is the 3rd and final Yom of the season. This year, it is recognized on May 28, 2014.
For information on the history of Yom Yerushalayim, and to see a video of images captured at the moment Jerusalem was unified, please visit the link below. It is less than 2.5 minutes long - you know you have the time to watch! :-)

Believe it or not, Middle School students are my favorite humans in the world! Let's be honest, they are the only people who have a biological excuse for their behavior. When an adult behaves like a teenager, I have NO patience for it, or for them. Teenagers have no choice but to be impatient, disorganized, forgetful, and rebellious. As parents, we have to give them room to behave like psychotic humans while protecting them for getting into any serious trouble. Ask a teenager if they have studied for their Bar/Bat Mitzvah and you may get one of several responses:
1. Yes, MOTHERRRRRRR!
2. DUH!
3. I don't want a stupid Bar/Bat Mitzvah - the party is enough for me.
4. Yes, I studied on Tuesday (no matter that today is Monday, making Tuesday SIX days ago).
5. Get off my back!
And yes, there are more....many more....don't forget the rolling of the eyes, a classic move perfected by all teenagers.
Just remember, they're just doing their jobs. Keep smiling, this too shall pass.
I am all about making a prayerbook that fits the personality of the honoree and his/her family. I had a wonderful challenge recently that resulted in my first-ever Steampunk Prayerbook. Take a look at some of the art that was used in the book...gears rule!
We are in the middle of the season that I lovingly refer to as the "Yom-yoms." "Yom" is Hebrew for 'day,' so a rough translation would be the "Day-days."
In the months of April and May, the Jewish calendar welcomes 3 major Yom-Yoms:
Yom Hashoah (Holocaust Memorial Day)
Yom Ha'atz'ma'ut (Israel's Independence Day)
and Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day).
Yom Ha'Atz'ma'ut is the 2nd Yom that we observe annually.
