Hope Valley Farm

We are a small hobby farm, loving what we do and learning as we grow. We raise quality Highland heifers as well as NGD goats.

What a great weekend to get outside and do some cleaning up around the farm. Pete and Gus enjoyed helping. Lola not so much...

We had our first heartbreak on the farm a few weeks back. We lost our little Opal, one of the baby girl goats. She had always been very small and wasn’t growing well. Then she caught a common, but usually treatable infection - and it was just too much for her to handle.
Fast forward a week...
we treated the other baby girl who seemed to be doing well. Until she developed worst case scenario side effects from the treatment. She got hypothermic and had severe neurological symptoms. Sooo... what do crazy people do? Well of course we brought the goat in the house for a few days and gave around the clock thiamine injections while she recovered.
Luckily we are on the other side now and glad to say that our little Brownie is back to her spunky self. However I dare say she is now extremely spoiled and would be fine being held most of the day. ❤️
