Week 33: Comfort
What a great word!! It is amazing to offer and receive comfort from others and more importantly have the comfort of Jesus all the time!
This week the devotion book talks about comfort and how we can comfort our family as well extend comfort to others. The scripture the book has listed to read talks about how Paul received comfort from friends. The world is in an uncertain time right now and we can all use comfort and give comfort to others. Jesus extends his comfort to us always and wants us to shine His light to others.
Comfort is so important in families and our everyday lives. The book mentions ways we can comfort one another. Comfort can range from a simple text, a card , a sweet smile, etc.. This week work on comfort in your homes , as well as how you can comfort others. We are blessed to know the comfort of Jesus, let us show others this comfort. Hope you have a great week!
"(God) comforts us in all our troubles. Now we can comfort others when they are in trouble. We ourselves receive comfort from God."- 2 Corinthians 1:4
Week 32. I took a little break and hope you all will join me again. This is such a great book with so many nice ways to incorporate Jesus in with everyday living , families and life.
This week the devotion is on knowledge. As we enter the new year, there are many things we can focus on with family and learning and Jesus! The scripture to read this week is 2 Chronicles 1:1-10. The Bible talks about the wisest man who lived (Solomon) and how he worshipped God first. He did not put value in money or things, but eagerly wanted to learn and have wisdom to lead God's people.
We can do the same. The book would like us to challenge ourselves to seek knowledge as a family in all areas of our life and with our relationship with Jesus. We not only want to continue strengthening our relationship and knowledge with Jesus, but always seek knowledge and learning in all that you do.
As individuals and as a family I encourage you to learn all that you can about Jesus and about opening up your minds to more information, wisdom and knowledge. Here are a few of the verses I really liked from this devotion-
"A heart that understands what is right looks for knowledge. But the mouths of foolish people feed on what is foolish"-Proverbs 15:14
"Your heart will become wise. Your mind will delight in knowledge"-Proverbs 2:10
Happy 2021 !
Blessings,
Missey
Happy is the family who sprinkles joy into lives, for they will laugh!!!- Week 31 from our devotion book. While I believe the words the book said, I also think-"Happy is the family who sprinkles the joy of Jesus into lives." I think of joy and Jesus going together.
One of the passages the book refers to is John 15:11- "I have told you this so that you will have the same joy that I have. I also want your joy to be complete." This passage is Jesus speaking to his disciples about following him and the joy that comes from God. We just had the third Sunday of Advent- Joy and I encourage you to take some time with your family to see where your joy comes from.
I find in my family , the closer we grow to God and focus on Him, the more joy we have. When we have the joy of Jesus as a family it seems we have more joy to spread to others. I hope you all take time to enjoy your family this Christmas and to truly embrace the joy Jesus has to give us. He not only give us joy , but allows us to share it with others.
Blessings,
Missey
