Meg recalls many poetic and dance events at the Worthen, like the Lowell Celebrates Kerouac events, belly dancing on Greek night (she's a dancer, too!), and the 2nd Edgar Allan Poe Show, I held at the Worthen in June 1998. She was there with her beloved late husband, Lawrence Carradini, past president of Lowell Celebrates Kerouac !

If you see her, buy her a Diet Coke! Her most recent poetry book is "Straw, Feathers, Bones."

The 2024 Poe in Lowell event will take place this October 19-20! Don't miss the horror writing workshop with Meg Smith on Saturday, October 19 in the The Worthen Attic from 3-5 pm!

Do you have Lowell Summer Series tickets? Visit the Worthen for a pre-show or post-show drink. We also serve dinner, beers, ciders, hand-made cocktails and Jell-O shot snacks. The kitchen is open from 5 pm - 9 pm. The bar is open late until 2 AM on Saturdays!

2024 Lowell Folk Festival Announces Full Performance Schedule for July 26-28

Music, Food, and Crafts From Around the World Showcased Throughout Lowell, MA

(Lowell MA- July 11, 2024) The 2024 Lowell Folk Festival kicks off at 6:15pm on Friday July 26th with the traditional Parade of Flags carried by local citizens who hail from around the world. This year Jorge Arce Comparsa Boricua will lead the Parade through the streets of downtown Lowell, MA to the opening ceremony at Boarding House Park.

Over three days (July 26th - July 28th), the 37th edition of the Festival will present more than 20 world-class artists performing music and dance traditions that range from Korea to Louisiana, on stages throughout Lowell. More information, including a complete schedule of performances, activities, crafts, and food stands representing cuisines from around the world, is available at lowellfolkfestival.org.

This group of A-list musicians will perform David Bowie's "The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars." Oh yeah, it's going to be thrilling.
