Last week, our first week of our Summer Programming was off to a great start. We experienced a few major challenges, but many thanks to State Senator Ed Kennedy and his office which consists of Dominik Lay and Patty Kirwin-Keilty and the continued support from the Lowell Public Schools Superintendent Liam Skinner and the Stoklosa Middle School Principal Jim Cardaci, our first week of summer programming at the Stoklosa School was a success. The girls had lots of fun, and some got an opportunity to do a week long programming at Ironstone Farm where they learned how to take care of horses and discovered the profound impact these majestic creatures have on their mental well-being.

Starting tomorrow, July 1 through August 23, we're temporary moving back to our building for the rest of Summer Programming. To learn more about us and to sign up, visit: https://girlsinclowell.org

Our Story

We provide quality enrichment programs after school, during summer and holiday breaks, for girls between the ages of 5 and 18. Girls Inc.’s innovative, research-based programs are designed to equip girls with valuable skills and resources, to prevent unhealthy behaviors, and to compensate for educational, cultural, and recreational activities our members frequently do not get at home or in school. We work with at-risk girls to boost their self-esteem, increase their interest in math, science, and technology, promote literacy, encourage them to get into sports, introduce them to money management and career development, reduce pregnancy risk, direct them away from drug use, and provide them with a variety of skills and interests that will help them positively in the future.

At Girls Inc., we are dedicated to the empowerment of girls and women, and helping improve the conditions in which they live. We believe every girl deserves the opportunity to grow up with champions who support and inspire her, and let her know that anything is possible.
