Two lovely friends of mine ordered salad entrees and wine at 8PM at NYAJ on a Thursday night. At 8:45 the manager informed them that 9PM was closing time. He told them again a few minutes later. Since when does 9PM closing actually mean chew faster and G**O at 9PM in the restaurant business?!

My favorite restaurant in Chelmsford fired Budweiser recently after another occasion of the drivers leaving the beer delivery on the back loading dock, in the bright sun, without a signature, or putting the beer away as required. See ya.

A Budweiser executive told me recently; "We haven't had losses like this in 50 years." King no longer. Queen? Let's not go there.

Let's see...
1994. In year one we got (rightfull) chastised by Lowell Folk Festival for putting those words on a tee shirt. Oops. Copyright infringement. Who knew!? (We get excited).
In year (3), my adorable team got yelled at for my allowing Arum the sausage guy to join our tent. (FF can be stressful!)
We got "in trouble" for a banner across the tracks and City Mgr Kevin Murphy yelped at our taping a sign to the light pole.
The Fire Department made us change the grills configuration and FF Arthur has chased me for amplification breaches! "Scooott...!!!"
2024... we failed to get the new permit. (Thanks John P at City of Lowell, MA - Government for getting us straight!)

I literally laughed out loud the time a bunch of staff were drinking around the bar at Cobblestones of Lowell (after hours after Folk Festival) and one of them called it a "staff infection!" Man, so many laughs through these 30 years! A few tears as well. We will be hosting a 30 year staff (and friends) reunion from 4PM to 7PM, Sunday July 28 and your beautiful souls will be missed;
Chef Ed Zaranski, co author and co creator of our first menu and setting a kitchen culture of focus, relentless work and the devil is in the details! No one had a bigger heart, scarier glare or commitment to their team than you Z.
Jimmy Moynihan, our first General Manager and a guy who hated words like 'ok' and 'no problem'. Always in a jacket and tie, my brother in law sought a higher standard than Lowell was accustomed to. And, don't even think of applying for a job and not bringing your own pen!
Joey Seidler, maybe the best looking man our staff has ever seen, Joey gave my own professional life perspective, proving that a hot-mess of a server, stressed and dropping things could eventually morph into a poised and professional bartender under great duress, given time and patience.
Nicole Hall, you brought sunshine, kindness and humor to our environment, and joined the long list of staff who fell in love while working here and got married after. You are loved and missed by all.
Mike Champagne, played big and came to work every day with high energy, hard work, great humor and stories for days! You kept us all laughing! Hopefully they show Celtics games in heaven!
I love being in the errands and the team is hunting me to be showing off our patio treats!! Cobblestones of Lowell

How can "Voted Best Burger in Lowell" by Lowell and Lowell Sun readers not be open for Lowell on our 30th 4th of July??!! Cobblestones of Lowell and YOUR best burger will open at 4PM in the tavern and on the patio for pre fireworks festivities! Join us!
