*If your child is asthmatic, please bring a list of all asthma medications to your appointment.

It's time again to get those sports physicals done for the 2024-2025 school year! We will be offering in-person (by appointment only) $30 physicals for our Lubbock & surrounding area patients. Book online via our website for a wait-free, quick and easy physical at our office located at 10507 Quaker Avenue, Suite 105. Inside James Morgan Office Plaza.

Please Note:
*Children with ANY history of cardiac issues (murmur, past cardiac surgeries, VSD, ASD, bradycardia, etc.), will NOT be cleared by Night Owl Pediatrics and must be seen & cleared by their primary care provider.

*Children who have had the Covid-19 Vaccine & subsequent boosters will NOT be cleared by Night Owl Pediatrics & must be seen and cleared by their primary care provider.

*If your child is asthmatic, please bring a current list of asthma medications with you to your appointment.

*Please bring school-specific physical form with you to your appointment. Forms can be obtained from the appropriate school office.

Flu Season is officially here, and with all the other nasty bugs going around, it's helpful to know what to look for with an influenza infection. 🤧 The flu is very contagious and spreads via respiratory droplets. And when you're infected, symptoms can come on suddenly.

Most people can be successfully treated for flu at home with fluids, rest, and over-the-counter fever-reducers. Some patients opt for prescriptions such as Tamiflu or Xofluza to shorten the duration of their symptoms. Either way, it's important to stay hydrated and to limit exposure to others while you are sick.

In the pediatric population, it's important to be aware of worsening symptoms that can warrant a trip to the ER. According to Mayo Clinic (2022), emergency symptoms in children can include:
- Difficulty breathing
- Pale, gray or blue-colored skin, lips or nail beds — depending on skin color
- Chest pain
- Dehydration
Severe muscle pain
Seizures
Worsening of existing medical conditions
