**📖 Sunday Recap: Blind Bartimaeus 📖**

**GOD ALWAYS WANTS TO INTERRUPT YOUR PLANS**

**Mark 10:46-52**
Vs. 46: Jesus was leaving Jericho with His disciples when they encountered Bartimaeus, a blind man, begging by the roadside.
Vs. 47: When Bartimaeus **HEARD** that it was Jesus, he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”

**1. DON’T GET CAUGHT UP IN WHAT YOU DON’T HAVE**
Bartimaeus couldn’t see, but he could hear! Don’t focus on what you lack—use what God has given you!
*Romans 12:6-8* reminds us that we each have gifts, given by God’s grace. Use them fully!

**2. WE MUST CRY OUT TO HIM**
Even when others tried to silence Bartimaeus, he cried out louder! His desire for Jesus outweighed their discouragement.
*Hebrews 11:6* tells us that faith is key to pleasing God. Seek Him diligently!

**3. BE PERSISTENT IN FAITH**
Bartimaeus didn’t give up. His persistence got Jesus’ attention!
*Hebrews 10:35-36* encourages us to keep our confidence, for it will be richly rewarded.

**4. KNOW WHAT YOU WANT FROM GOD**
When Jesus asked, “What do you want me to do for you?” Bartimaeus knew exactly what to ask for: “Rabbi, I want to see.”
*John 14:13-14* says that whatever we ask in Jesus’ name, He will do it.

**Vs. 52:** Jesus said, “Go, your faith has healed you.” Bartimaeus immediately received his sight and followed Jesus.

**Reflection:** Bartimaeus’ story reminds us to use what we have, cry out to Jesus, be persistent in our faith, and know exactly what we want from God. Keep your faith strong, and don’t let anyone or anything discourage you from seeking Jesus!

Sunday Recap: “No Offense, Part 4 - What To Do When Bitterness Takes Over”

“All bitterness starts out as hurt...”

When we let bitterness take root, it can consume us, turning pain into a corrosive force that impacts our hearts and relationships. We must recognize that **bitterness** is a **hidden destroyer**, poisoning not just ourselves but others as well.

Hebrews 12:14-15 (NIV)reminds us to live in peace and guard against the “bitter root” that defiles many.

So, how do we uproot bitterness?

1. Expose It: Admit and confront the objects of your bitterness (Ephesians 5:11).
2. Cancel Their Debt: Forgive freely as Christ forgives us (Matthew 18:21-35).
3. Bless Them: Speak blessings over those who hurt you (Luke 6:27-28).

Remember, hatred and holiness cannot coexist in the same heart. Let’s choose forgiveness and peace, allowing God’s grace to transform our pain into healing. 🙏✨

Yesterday’s message titled “No Offense Part 3: “When I Don’t Like Who I’m Becoming” delved into the struggles and doubts that many believers face in their Christian walk. Pastor Brody encouraged us to reflect on times when we feel like Christianity isn’t working for us and to seek reassurance from the scriptures.

Key Scriptures:
1. **John 14:1-6 (NIV):**
- Jesus comforts His disciples by assuring them that He is preparing a place for them and that He is “the way and the truth and the life.”
- Thomas’ doubts and questions represent the confusion we often face, but Jesus’ response is a reminder that He is the only path to the Father.

2. **Luke 19:1-9:**
- The story of Zacchaeus, a rich tax collector who was transformed by his encounter with Jesus, emphasizes the power of personal transformation. Zacchaeus’ willingness to give up half of his possessions and repay those he defrauded shows the profound change that happens when we truly meet Jesus.

3. **John 3:16-17 (NIV):**
- A reminder of God’s love and the purpose of Jesus’ coming: not to judge the world, but to save it. This challenges us to align our actions and attitudes with God’s purpose rather than being judgmental.

Main Takeaways:
- **Doubts are normal, but Jesus is the answer:** Just like Thomas, we may question our path, but Jesus reassures us that He is the way.
- **Transformation through Jesus:** Zacchaeus’ story teaches us that no matter who we are or what we’ve done, we can change and be redeemed.
- **Judgment vs. Salvation:** If Jesus came to save rather than judge, we must also approach others with grace and a heart of salvation rather than judgment.

Final Thought:
If God didn’t send Jesus to judge the world, He definitely didn’t send us to do so. Let’s focus on reflecting His love and truth in our lives, even when we don’t like who we’re becoming. Through Jesus, there is always hope for change and growth.

**🌅 Sunday Recap: NO OFFENSE PT. 2 Living Offended is a Choice**

Yesterday’s message reminded us of the importance of controlling our anger and guarding our hearts against bitterness.

**Key Takeaways:**

✨ *Ephesians 4:26-27*: “In your anger, do not sin”: Don’t let the sun go down while you’re still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Choose healing over holding on to hurt.

✨ *Being Offended vs. Living Offended*: Being offended is inevitable, but living offended is a choice. Release bitterness, rage, and anger. Instead, embrace kindness and compassion, forgiving each other just as Christ forgave you.

✨ *The Enemy’s Strategy*: The devil seeks to divide, distract, and discredit. Don’t give him room in your heart by holding onto anger.

✨ *Words Matter*: Ephesians 4:29 encourages us to avoid unwholesome talk. Speak words that build others up and meet their needs.

It takes time to love up close. Let’s choose love over being right, and fulfill God’s call to be loving.
