We are deeply saddened to receive the news about the passing of Billy Jack McVey. On behalf of all students at Texas Tech University, we want to extend our heartfelt condolences to the McVey family and friends. A man of integrity and good will, Billy Jack could be looked to as a resource for fair debate, wise advice, and friendly conversation. He made our organization and campus a better place to be.

He served as President for the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Student Officer for Mortar Board, as well as Senator for the College of Engineering. His impact on campus, as well as his warm energy and intellectual curiosity, will be hard to replace, and we will miss him dearly at the Student Government Association.

Thank you to everyone who came out this weekend for our Spring Talent Show, Tech's Got Talent! We hoped you enjoyed hanging out with us and listening to some amazing acts. Huge shoutout to our MC's and FYLA interns for making everything run smoothly! If you couldn't make it, go check out the live on 's page—you won't regret it!

Join us tomorrow at the Raider Plaza by the SUB for an evening of music and wellness, as we kick off the first annual "Tech's Got Talent"! This event was created to highlight the talents of students here at TTU, and we would love for everyone to join us. Following the scheduled performances, we will have an Open-Mic opportunity for anyone who would like to participate. We will be giving out lots of goodies to performers and spectators. Hope to see you all there!
