For those who don’t know or who are misinformed, this is Canadian Bacon - packaged, uncooked and then after being cooked - not what is passed off as or sold as “Canadian Bacon” as many grocery stores in the US. There is no comparison. Our Canadian bacon accompanied the omelettes I made for breakfast last Sunday while on our Canadian trip.
Last week had the pleasure spending a week visiting my mother-in-law in St. Thomas, ON, Canada. A pictorial snapshot of the trip - not necessarily in order. The temperature was a bit chilly upon our arrival, but warmed into the low 80’s by the end of the week. The firework picture was from the Canada Day celebration on July 1st - Canada’s national day of independence from Britain (there are a whole pile more pictures)
Opening at 10:00 AM…Today…Friday…July 12th….
Hello! Yes, we are closed today, Tuesday, July 9th.
We will reopen tomorrow, Wednesday, at 9:00 AM, with business as usual for the remainder of the week.
We need a day to unpack, do laundry and plan the week after being away for the past week.
I apologize if this causes you any disappointment, though also thank you for your patience and understanding.
We look forward to seeing and serving you soon!
Blessings!

Hello and happy Friday! This is more for our Lynchburg customers and visitors…for tomorrow, Saturday, July 6th.
While you will be celebrating with fireworks tonight, Friday, compliments of the DLA ( ) and the City of Lynchburg, you might not be celebrating much tomorrow.
Due to vacations and staffing, while our shop will be open, tomorrow, Saturday, July 6th, we will not be able to offer espresso service. We apologize.
We - Kate and Noel - will have drip-brew coffee, iced coffee and our in-house roasted and brewed cold brew, hot and iced tea, lemonade (plain or flavored), cold drinks with or without Boba.
For those who prefer to enjoy a good cup at home - coffee or tea - we have a good selection of our in-house, freshly roasted coffees and boxed, loose teas to purchase and take home.
So not to leave you too depresso, please take assurance in that our espresso bar and service will return next week (starting Wednesday).
Thank you for your patience, your understanding and your support!
Blessings!

Good morning! Happy, and promising to be a hot, Saturday.
For those who are venturing out today, whether coming to the Saturday, or not, to counter the heat, we will have plenty of iced and cold options for beverages. Iced coffee, brewed in house cold brew coffee (from our Roastery) iced lattes, iced Americanos, iced Matcha, iced tea, iced lemonade and, new this week, iced boba beverages. We also have bottled water.
For those who like it hot, we still have all the above, too, but hot - excluding the boba.
One thing you might not be aware of, coffee, caffeine, actually can act like I diuretic (make you go number one). So, with this hot weather, if you have any caffeinated beverage, please ensure you follow it up with some water.
We will have only our Roastery, Tea Gallery, Cafe and Retail Shop open, today, due to a last minute staffing shortfall.
Last, but most important, I want to say thank you to all of you who, last weekend, might have included us, our fresh-roasted coffees and loose teas, as part of your Father’s Day celebration and recognition. If your purchase(s) was for your own enjoyment, still, thank you!
We hope to see and serve you, today and/or this coming week. Regardless, should you visit with us today or not, please take to stay hydrated and cool.
Make it a fantastic day and coming week!
Blessings!
Tom
To each and all of you who, Wednesday and yesterday, took time in your day to like and/or comment on my post about celebrating 25 years of marriage, thank you. My wife and I were touched by your interest and comments.
Being transparent, it has not been 25 years of total sunshine and unicorns, there have been a few cloudy days. A successful marriage, like a successful business requires commitment and hard work.
Seriously though, thank you!
Blessings!

Now this is an idea I can get BEHIND 😉
On this day, 25 years ago, I made one of the best decisions I ever made in my life when I said “I do” and married the woman who has become my love and my best friend, my trusted confident and advisor and, my greatest cheerleader and earthly source of encouragement.
Thank you, Kathryn, for your love, your patience with me, and Lord knows you have needed that with me, and for your continued love, encouragement and support. I am so looking forward to as many more years, together, with you, as God blesses us with.
For anyone who might be wondering, the other best decision I made was, years ago, asking Jesus into my life as my Lord and Savior. It is His Love, Grace, Forgiveness and Strength that has been an integral part of our marriage.
A scripture verse we still look to, today, 25 years after it was a part of our wedding, and has been for many of you…
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

***News Flash***
This Sunday, tomorrow, is Father’s Day. For the dad who has discriminating taste for excellent, fresh, roasted-in-house coffees (feedback from customers, not my words) or quality, loose teas to brew at home or the office, then we can help.
Available in resealable, zip-seal bags, for Father’s Day, we have three-natural process coffees from Brazil, El Salvador and Ethiopia. We also have coffees from, Congo DR, Colombia, Nicaragua, India (acid-free) Monsoon, Uganda, Flores, Java, Timor and Sulawesi.
Our loose tea selection includes black teas, green teas, herbal teas and Rooibos Teas - several different flavor options for each.
Selection for the above are limited, some more than others in that for a few specific coffee offerings or origins, once they are gone, they are gone.
Need a pick-me-up, with our espresso and drip bar service, you can come get a cup to sit and savor, or something to go.
We are, today, open at both locations inside the Lynchburg Community Market. Our drip bar until 1:00 PM. Our Roastery, Tea Gallery, Cafe and retail shop until 1:30 PM.
We hope to see and be of service to you!
If we miss you today, Happy Father’s Day!
Blessings!

Hello and happy Tuesday! Trusting you week is starting well!
Well…it is a good news bad news story this week…
The good news is that our son’s puppy, Roxy, survived and has, thankfully, really bounced back from the Parvovirus that had stricken her almost two weeks ago, only days after adopting her. After being treated with multiple IV medications for several days, thankfully she rallied back. We will call her a recovery a Miracle given her grim condition and prognosis when we took her in for which we give Praise and Thanks! 👆🏻✝️👏🏻👏🏻👐🏻👐🏻💪🏻💪🏻. To those of you who were of our son’s puppy’s situation and offered well-wishes and prayers, thank you!!
The bad news…on account of me having sinus surgery yesterday, Monday, there will be some disruptions in opening and service this week. At this point, I expect or plan to have our main shop open as follows…
Tuesday (today) - closed
Wednesday - OPEN - 9:15 AM - 1:30 PM
Thursday - closed
Friday - OPEN - 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Saturday - OPEN - 8:00 AM - 1:30 PM
We apologize for any disappointment or inconvenience the above may cause, and thank you for your patience and understanding.
Make it a fantastic week!
Blessings!

I told my wife I'd save her half of my sandwich. She's gonna be so happy I actually did it this time!
Hello and happy Saturday! Trusting you have, all, had a decent week.
Today is kind of a special day, a bit of a different day for us. Today, Kate who many of you who frequent our shop during the week and on Saturdays, who without her help week after week I would be sunk and in deep weeds is doing something special today.
Among being talented, whipping up yummy espresso and matcha beverages, Kate is also a wonderfully creative and talented artist. Today, in lieu of the Art in the Park event, unfortunately, having been cancelled because of today’s forecast stormy weather, Kate is going to be setting up, displaying and, hopefully, selling some of her artistic creations at our Drip Bar, our table at the other end of the Market, just across from .
In addition to helping me in the shop for four to five hours a day, four days a week, for the past several months, Kate, had been working hard, for hours, sometimes late into the night creating and preparing her wonderful and whimsical art.
So if you are coming downtown, today, to the stop by at our table to see some of her work, and talk about it with her. You should be able to get a cup of coffee, there, as well.
For those of you who have met and know Kate, as I know her from working with her for the past 5+ years or longer, she would also encourage you to make sure to check out the other amazing artist who are a regular part of the Market.
We hope and look forward to seeing and serving you in our main shop and Roastery as well.
Hoping you have a great day and weekend!
Blessings!

Thursday…May 9th…Closed today due staff illness.
Good morning! Unfortunately we will be closed today due to staff illness, perhaps to your benefit as well. We plan to reopen tomorrow morning, Friday, May 10th, at 9:00 AM.
Due to yesterday’s puppy emergency, I am behind on my roasting coffee for this week so will be in, only, to roast coffee.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment. We also thank you for your patience and understanding.
Make it a great day!
Blessings!

If only they had one more lock... 🤦♂️

Good morning! A beautiful Saturday morning in LYH.
A bit of a different view or perspective this morning. While my team this morning - Abby, Heather and Kate - are running the main shop (our Roastery, Tea Gallery & Cafe), I am set up at our drip bar at the other end (thus the distant view of our shop).
The drip bar will operational until 12:00, noon, today.
Our Roastery, Tea Gallery, Cafe & retail shop will be open until 1:30 PM, today.
It’s a beautiful day, so why not come downtown, check out and shop the and all of the many, small, local, owner-run shops that neighbor the market and surrounding streets. With your supporting local, together, we make Lynchburg the wonderful place it is to live and raise our families. It also make Lynchburg a wonderful place to visit!
We hope to see and serve you soon, but regardless make it a fantastic day and weekend!
Blessings!
