A big thank you and congratulations to Mr. Kevin Chunko, who rendered his solo organ recital in First Presbyterian Church of Macomb last Thursday. We at WIU MTNA are grateful for your music!
MTNA is excited to welcome Mr. Kevin Chunko in a solo organ concert on April 18 (Thursday) at 7:30 pm in First Presbyterian Church of Macomb.
Organist Kevin Chunko is based in the St. Louis area. He studied organ with Frances Griffith, Stephen Widenhofer, Anita Eggert Werling, and Dana Robinson, early music performance practice and continuo with Charlotte Mattax-Moersch, and composition with Jeremy Brunk. He holds Bachelors and Masters in organ performance from Millikin University and Western Illinois University, respectively. He later completed doctoral coursework in organ performance at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He was University Organist, adjunct vocal accompanist, and choral accompanist at Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, IL. Kevin regularly collaborated with and assisted choral conductor J. Scott Ferguson while in Bloomington. Notable collaborative performances include Benjamin Britten's Rejoice In the Lamb, Ralph Vaughn Williams's Five Mystical Songs (choir and organ version), and selections from James MacMillan's Cantos Sagrados. In the distant past, Kevin worked in pipe organ voicing, tonal finishing, and tuning. Kevin has held organist positions for a range of denominations, currently the keyboardist for St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, Ms. Alexis’s presentation is postponed until further notice.
We at MTNA apologize for the inconvenience.

NEED SERVICE HOURS?
As many of you may know, our chapter ushers many, if not all of the performances that happen at COFAC Recital Hall.
After a few people outside of the chapter demonstrated interest in ushering at COFAC, we decided to create an ushering club! This club is open to anyone in the university! Not just those in the School of Music (SOM)! This is an excellent way to get service hours and listen to great music! Also, for those in the SOM, you can collect service hours and recital attendance!
If you are interested, please come to our interest meeting! Details are in the flyer!
Are you looking to present in a symposium? Dr. Yeon-Kyung Kim is sharing her thoughts on how to prepare for poster presentations.
We hope to see you there!
Congratulations, MTNA for a successful Quiplash Social!
