This past weekend the LGBT*QA Resource Center participated in our annual Multicultural Center graduation ceremony. ✨
Our graduate assistants, Yazmin and Janae’, were proud to honor our upcoming Lavender graduates and the new inductees of Lambda Lavender Honor Society with their graduation memorabilia. 🪻
We would like to give a special thanks to Michelle Janisz, our staff speaker, for her words of wisdom and support to the lovely graduates. 🎓
And congratulations to Percival Hillanbrand on winning an award on behalf of the LGBT*QA Resource Center for being our MVP. 🏆
And once again congratulations to Chingonx Afrocentric Qu**rs on winning an award based on their accomplishments as an organization. ✨🥹

This past Monday OSE had their Leadership Awards Gala and our organizations were thankful to be nominated and WON! 🥇 ✨
CAQ was honored to receive the “Inclusive Community Award” during their FIRST year being a standing organization. CAQ is dedicated to creating a welcoming and diverse space for individuals to feel welcome. 🥹
The new President of CAQ, Samantha Hernandez, received The Patience Thomas Emerging Student Leader Award! ✨We are proud of all her hard work and dedication to not only CAQ but her coursework and other organizations! 🎉
And a special congratulations to our fellow Graduate Assistant, Janae’ Patterson, for winning the Outstanding Graduate Assistant Practitioner award. All of her hard work and dedication has not been unnoticed. ☺️

Calle Murray is an annual block party hosted by Casa Latina Cultural Center to celebrate the Latinx and Indigenous cultures. This event brings WIU and the Macomb community in an open and engaging environment, while learning about the rich history and culture of the diverse set of Latinx countries represented by students, staff, and faculty here at Western Illinois University. ✨
This year's theme is "Familias Belong Together," which refers to an advocacy campaign devoted to reuniting immigrant
families that were separated.✨
There will be free food, face painting, bull riding, a special DJ and so much more! Don't miss this special event.🫶🏾
