Hey Madison! Somehow December is approaching fast and I'm participating in the this year!!!  This is always one of my favorite events to do and has been a Madison mainstay for 15 years.

Who am I? I'm Hilary, and I make natural science and found object jewelry for weirdos of all ages and genders. Come and interact with all the bug, bark, toy, bone, and floral offers I'll have with me! I love questions and talking about my lengthy gathering and preservation processes. Most of my natural treasures come from Wisconsin.

About the Fair: the event spans multiple spaces throughout the Goodman Center, so check out maps and times/dates in advance!

BAKED BEAN HAT

My Critter Getter has gone to the big dumpster in the sky. Being self-employed has lean times and this is one of those times. Yes, it's just a car but it was my connection to so many aspects of my work and I'm going to miss its haunted doors and enormous storage capacity.

My almost finished baked bean purse! It's made with a plastic canvas base, lined with felt and poly lining. The lid is a plastic jar lid covered in silver metallic spandex. The shell is corduroy. I scanned a bean can label, sized it up, and printed it on iron-on decal paper meant for dark fabrics. I fused it to some brown fabric, then fused that to the purse shell with lightweight Heat n' Bond. The chain feeds up through the lid, and I'll be adding a magnet onto the black inner cross strap to keep the lid secure once it's slid down into place.

Making a baked bean purse to go with our couple's Halloween costumes. My boyfriend is going to be the Thicc Mothman statue of Point Pleasant, WV. I love Halloween because it justifies a lot of my weird craft supply hoarding tendencies, and allows me to half-ass make stuff for fun with little to no pressure to make anything perfectly.

Holiday Market is coming up and I'd love to share a 10x10 with another maker if you have small products and/or are also a weirdo 💀👽🤡☺️. Probably not a vegan unless you don't mind jewelry made out of animal bones.
