Meet our newest addition to the Faircrest team...Grae!

Grae joined the Faircrest team in August 2024, drawn by the friendly team and compassionate atmosphere. With a Bachelor's in Marine Biology and Cognitive Science, Grae has extensive experience in shelter and emergency medicine.
Originally from Texas, Grae moved from San Diego to Madison in 2023 and enjoys experiencing all 4 seasons, especially the leaves changing color in the fall. Passionate about client education and connecting with pets, Grae emphasizes regular preventative care. Grae has worked with various exotic pets, including dolphins, parrots, alpacas, frogs, and chinchillas.
At home, Grae cares for two senior cats, Pumpkin and Samantha, both huge cuddle bugs! In free time, Grae enjoys reading, musical theater, gymnastics, and exploring new places.

We will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 2nd. We will reopen for normal business hours at 8am on Tuesday, Septemer 3rd.

Just a friendly reminder of extra steps to take to help keep our pet friends cool and safe during these hot temperatures:

☀️ Watch out for heatstroke
☀️ Give your pet extra water
☀️ Offer your pet several ways to cool off (like a pool party or icy treats)
☀️ NEVER leave your pet alone inside a car
☀️ Take your walks in the morning or evening when temperatures are cooler
☀️ Don’t leave your dog alone outside for more than a few minutes
☀️ Avoid hot sidewalks and asphalt
☀️ Brush your pet regularly
☀️ Be alert for coolant leaking from your vehicle

Lili joined the Faircrest Team in July, 2024. She recently moved back to the Madison area after living in Austin, Texas for 3 years. Veterinary medicine has had her heart since 2017, when she joined the team at a non-profit animal care clinic. Since then, she’s gained experience in both small animal practice and urgent care. She’s passionate about connecting with people and their pets and practicing compassionate, empathetic care. In her free time, she enjoys cooking with her wife, snuggling her cat, reading, and spending time in nature.

Today is Aliyah's last day here at Faircrest. Serving not only as our receptionist, she has also performed assistant duties and enjoys snuggling with your pets. After 2 years here at Faircrest, it is time for Aliyah to spread her wings and fly as she is off to the world of emergency veterinary medicine. Please join us in wishing Aliyah well in her future endeavors!

We have a new addition to the Faircrest team! Alex joined the team a few weeks ago and will be spending the summer with us.

Here is some more info about Alex: Alex joined the Faircrest team in May, 2023. He recently completed his second year of veterinary school at University of Wisconsin-Madison and is interested in pursuing small animal medicine after graduating, but is also considering specializing in behavioral medicine or oncology. Alex has experience working with all types of animals but likes working with dogs, cats and rabbits the most. In his free time, Alex likes to go on hikes, bake, and read science fiction novels.

Clearly, Izzy & Maisey have seen our past posts and wanted to be included. They gave us their best, tongue-filled smiles at their recent visit!

Unfortunately, we have seen several patients with ticks recently. Ticks aren't just gross little creatures, they can spread diseases to you and your pet. Be sure your pet is protected with a monthly flea/tick preventative. Let know if you have questions about which preventatives are best for your pet.
