Happy Corn Sweat season! From mid-July and until late-August, the large amounts of corn planted throughout the Midwest can cause "corn sweats". This happens when plants exhale water, increasing the moisture in the air.
According to the National Weather Service, one acre of corn can release between 3,000 and 4,000 gallons of water every day. Both corn and soybean crops can increase local humidity by "sweating".
