Spooky season is almost here! And what better way to celebrate than with “The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari”? This film invites you into a creepy little German town where a string of murders has everyone on edge.

This event is part of Overture's Duck Soup Cinema silent movie series. Each show opens with local vaudeville-style acts and features a skilled organist who mirrors the actors’ emotions, just as it was done in 1928!

Madison's Overture Center celebrates 20th anniversary It opened on Sept. 19, 2004, replacing the former Civic Center.

Big news! Overture Center achieved a 2024 Climate Champion status for a variety of water conservation practices!

The recognition was presented by Dane County Executive Jamie Kuhn and the Office of Energy and Climate Change (OECC) for leading climate action through the Dane County Climate Champions program. The Climate Champions program recognizes the leadership of local entities that take significant action to reduce carbon emissions.

Earlier this year, in collaboration with 1901 Plumbing Inc., our facilities team completed the installation of four cutting-edge water softeners and four large brine tanks to conserve both water and energy.

Special shoutout to our facilities team including Director of Facilities Tony Wantoch for their commitment to sustainability and responsible resource management!

Reynold Peterson is an Overture Center icon. He moved to Madison 40 years ago to join the Civic Center staff, where he spent 22 years helping navigate its transformation into Overture Center. He retired 18 years ago as senior vice president of finance and operations.
