During TCM's annual meeting on June 8, 2023, three former Board Members were awarded honorary titles in recognition of their distinguished contributions to our mission.
Reverend Don Rudrud wrote the original grant in 1975 after discussions with Chuck Pfeifer, the long-time Director of the predecessor to Just Dane. In 1978, he became the first President of TCM and is now recognized with the long-overdue title of TCM President Emeritus.
Sister Mary Ellen Lewis of Franciscan Sisters of Mary collaborated with long-time Board Member Barbara Komoroske in their roles at St Mary's Hospital to place the first Faith Community Nurse in the Triangle in 1998. Her new title is TCM Board Member Emerita.
Bob Gwynne brought the Second Harvest Food Pantry to the Triangle while serving as TCM Board President. He has remained a valuable advisor since his retirement from the Board and has been awarded the title TCM President Emeritus.
There have been dozens of volunteers who have made important contributions since our founding more than 45 years ago. The current volunteer Board Members would like to thank all of those who are responsible for the remarkable work that has been done and continues to be done in service to the residents of Madison's Triangle neighborhood. It is the residents who inspire all of us with their celebration of life while struggling with chronic poverty, disability, and racial and ethnic injustice.
Founder and first TCM President, Reverend Don Rudrud, TCM President Emeritus, expressed his approval of the progress we have made at TCM. We have included his letter here.
This morning, TCM’s Outreach Development Coordinator, Rev. Peder Johanson, is bringing greetings and a good word to our friends at Madison Christian Community. Our 45 years of witness to healing love is itself a witness to congregations like these who have supported us for so many years. If you would like to learn more about TCM or to invite Rev. Johanson to visit your church, club, or organization, let us know!
It’s a warm and friendly gathering at our Monday Meals, where volunteers host a delicious supper for residents of the Triangle Community. Tonight, dear friends of Sue Halambeck, a past volunteer and board member, prepared a feast of lasagna and sides in her memory. Let us know if your congregation or community/friend group would be interested in hosting a Monday Meal!

We're cookin' again at the Triangle!
Two bleary-eyed residents rang our doorbell this morning asking, "Do you have any flu-bags?" Both were feeling under the weather and remembered that TCM had planned ahead for occasions just like this. It was a joy to answer, "Yes! Here you go!"
Special thanks to Our Savior’s Lutheran who provided a generous Thrivent Grant for hydration and nutrition drinks to add to the bags' collection of healthful contents, and to All Saints Assisted Living, a part of Catholic Charities, for assembling the bags for this inevitable flu-ish time of year. There have been many grateful recipients!
