Cape Cod Live Steamers Group
Welcome to the Cape Cod Live Steamers page! We run a small 7-1/4th gauge railroad loop in Sandwich MA. For other inquires please call 774-212-0893.
Please look for Watts family farm if you happen to be a member visiting for the first time. Then call us at 774-212-0893 for full directions. Thanks! We look forward to seeing you on the rails soon!!
Today we didn’t see any visitors so we decided to shut down an hour early…..but on the bright side our newest member came down for a day of orientation!!! Meet Robert, who recently joined our club. Robert got a full tour of our railroad and got permission from the owner of Toby to take Toby for a spin! He had a wonderful time and is a great asset to the group!! Thank you for coming Robert! We look forward to seeing you in the future! 🎊
Join the fun! We’re here till 4!
Good evening everyone! Apologies for the late notice, but if anyone is interested in popping by tomorrow between 11am-4pm we will be there! 🚂🚂
Something that we’ve all come to realize is that the hobby can easily discourage people from wanting to get involved since it is admittedly a more expensive hobby. However, our club has locomotives and resources to give you the chance to experience the hobby first hand! You don’t need any railroad experience whatsoever! Our club thrives on educating the public and would be more than happy to teach those interested in joining. Many of our current members can agree that everyday we all learn something new, weather it be; Train control (keeping control of your locomotive to keep the ride comfy for everyone!), basic operations such as coupling trains together, and even track work as track work is very important to keep things going!
Today some cleanup was done down at our turntable! Also did a few loops on the train just to check for tree branches and cut back some brush near the engine house! Overall a very productive and fun day!
Stopped by the West Barnstable Train Depot while waiting for the rain to pass. Plans for today include; brush cutting, also planning to leaf blow a ton!🎊🚂 Trains run out of here every Saturday at 11:55 am! Feel free to check them out sometime!

For my birthday this year I want to try and raise money for Cape Cod Live Steamers Group all funds donated go directly to the railroad to help keep things running

Safety is our number one priority, but let’s be fair we’ve all flipped or went off at least once. So with that being said; enjoy these bloopers. No people or trains were seriously injured 😉😅
Looking for something fun to do? Come on out to Cape Cod Live Steamers! We’re always looking for an extra set of hands!
Did you know that it’s so easy to run this loco that even a kid could drive it? Yep! Thats right! Come on down the following Sunday with your family and give your child a chance to get some “Hand on the throttle” experience!
Here’s a video shot by Rich from the rear of the train during one of our test runs with the loco!
Summer slammed us with rain every week but luckily things are looking up, special thanks to Rich for letting us take his fathers locomotive in the meantime!
Hello! Just looking for some feedback but if we had snacks up for grabs on operating days, what would you like to see? (Chips/cookies/waters etc)? let’s start a discussion!
Special thanks to Rich Magee and Ryan Barrette for assisting in taking down the old shed in the center of the track site! Today along with dissembling the old shed, we took a walk around the track and even gave the cars a gravity run around the loop and confirmed that everything is in running order “track wise”. Next up, in our locomotive mechanic shop we plan to get everything back in service real soon! We will keep you posted as we progress! We are very eager to get moving but of course ”You can’t always get what you want” So please bare with us and thank you all so much for your support!! 🚂
Just got done pulling some of the locos and rolling stock out of the shed a little while ago! We are here and ready to get more stuff pulled out of the shed.
Well it’s official!! Only one day left till our first event of the year, we hope to see you all there. Weather is looking beautiful for Saturday! We’ll see you all tomorrow between 9 and 5! 🚂
Hello everyone! Just wanna wish everyone a happy new year! For the upcoming year, we’d like to offer a reduced membership for the first year of only $25 to sign up with us online! With this special first time membership you’ll be granted the ability to come down to the club and work with us on our track and locomotive maintenance. For those too far away that would like to support us remotely, we welcome and encourage those people to still join in on the membership. We generally hold meetings via video chat so you’d still all be welcome to join remotely if that’s something you’d rather do. We’ve grown so much on this page in the past couple of years and want to thank all of you for the continued support! So let’s all make this a great year! 🚂🎉 (If interested, feel free to reach out to our page and we’ll get you started from there!)
Everyone within the group would like to give a warm thank you to everyone who made this year a success! Especially Linda Pegnato and Fred Pegnato and the rest of the West Barn. NRHS chapter for letting us use a section of the parking lot to operate! Also, we send a very special thanks to Nancy Meagher from the West Barnstable Village Fest Committee for helping us all coordinate plans for the festival and helping us as we navigated this all for the first time as new operators of the club. You all made it real special! Even for those who couldn’t be there you all shared our posts out to other people and help spread the word about our club. Especially the people who made it out to our open houses. Now onto some updates for the year, as we all know it’s getting closer and closer to the snowy season. Just as many live steamer clubs we have decided to close up for the winter. However, we’ll all be back again in the springtime! We have so much more planned in the future and look forward to another fun year ahead. If your looking to join our club please message our page! One of us will get back to you as soon as we can! We still plan on having regular meetings throughout the off season to plan ahead for the upcoming season.
