How do you handles grays?
When you’re less than 50% gray and you don’t wanna do a root touch up every four weeks, my go to option is blending them into a set of highlights!
The blend of highlights and colored low lights paired with a gloss blend out grays to perfection and you won’t feel the need to touch your roots every 4-5 weeks, in fact some of my clients will live out this color for 6-8 weeks, which is a typical time schedule for a set of highlights! Getting you a whole extra month, and breaking out of the root touch cycle!

GLOSSY GLOSSYYYYY ✨
Let’s talk Glosses, otherwise known as a toner, or glaze. The gloss is a finishing process usually for my blondie girls, or anyone who is being lifted with bleach. It rounds out your color, balances unwanted undertones, and adds in color we want to see at the end of our appointment! It is a CRUCIAL addition to my blonde appointments. My brunette girls! It’s for you too! If we’re done being blonde, let’s do a gloss, you wanna add some cooler tones? Or try something new without any damage? GLOSSSSSSSS! Not to mention the added benefits a gloss has on hair in general, it’s an easy way to give dull hair life again, add back shine and fill the cuticle of the hair. We can even do a completely clear gloss, for my virgin hair babes, JUST FOR SHINE AND LUSTERRRRRRR!
Danielle here is one of my fave girlie pops! She first came to me to fill in her unwanted blonde highlights she got from sun in lol, we just glossed her back down to her natural, this time around we added wine red tones into her gloss and I am BEYOND pleased.

When you’re doing a lived in look what’s your go to pattern? We don’t even do a root smudge for this babe! Realistically it all comes down to placement and technical skill, are you elevating the foil enough when applying the lightener? If not you’ll find yourself left with a very harsh abrupt line at the top of your foil. Are you leaving enough room for the lightener to expand inside the foil? We don’t want any unnecessary bleeders! There’s so many like tidbits to be running back in your mind while doing a foil, but making sure your technique is on point and being practiced, extra time and money can be saved for both you and your client. Not every single guest requires a full head of highlights, a gloss, a root smudge, and a finish. Don’t get me wrong I don’t never do root smudges, buttttt if we have the ability to achieve the desired look without the extra step, it’s a go for me. All by understanding the basics of technique and placement. 😍😍

Sun kissed babes are my faaaaaave 😍
You don’t need to pack in the foils to get heavy coverage (sometimes yes, especially with massively thick hair) but mostly NO! It’s all about placement, diagonal back comb slices will be your best friend! For this sweet chick we did a partial foil, 3-4 fine slices on each side of the face with one back comb slice to form depth over the ear. For the $Money Piece$ we did two fine slices lining the hairline followed by two more fine weaves to create a strong but blended money piece. Behind a tiny triangle section heavily backcombed to create dimension and to make the money piece really POP! Then on each side of her natural part we do 2-3 diagonal backcombed slices. Boom done and done.
Let’s say a total of 23 foils! Leaving a good amount of darkness in the right places to make the blonde pop even brighter!

My grandma decided it was time to be a little wild 💗😍 this goes to show you it doesn’t matter what age you are, you’re gunna look friggin cool with pink hair. PERIODT.

Not one appointment really as exciting as getting to make your little sister a rainbow unicorn 😍😍Kept her color fairly forth grade friendly LOL, it’s not a joke trying to get a 9 year old to care about up keep sooooo I kept the color to her mids and ends, and primarily toward her face. This way she feels super colorful when she looks in the mirror, without having to lighten the entirety of her hair, or having to break the bank. When this color inevitably fades she’ll be left with mostly her natural color and just bits and pieces of blonde on the ends that maybe mom could put a little color rinse something on in between cuts then she’ll be getting these hairs trimmed off. No real damage and easily changeable while my baby sister finds her personal identity!!! Oh I’m so glad she’ll feel her best starting school ready to go 😍💗🧡💛💚💙💜 SASSY LITTLE ONE THIS IS.

When says she wants to be reeeeeally blonde we make that girl reeeeeally blonde 😍🥳 However taking the after shots of this color and seeing the photos made me realize that I should post more content educating clients on things we see as stylists to make everyone’s lives easier! Things like how different lighting can change an entire head of color, or that when you bring inspo photos the fact that the hair is styled MATTERS and that as a client we should look past the style and pin point what about this photo is it that we like? Lindsay thoughts free flowing right now… but this got me all amped up keep and eye because we’re about to get educational on this page… YOU’RE WELCOME 😂😘

Betty here was transitioning a full head of highlights to a double process every 4-5 weeks, her hair is fine but with a fairly high density and lifts like a DREAM with 15vol every 5 weeks! There was some previous damage we have been trying to work with and slowly grow out, but with correct care, The professional strength concentrate system, and a lot of love we are surely getting this girl back to healthy! ⁣
