Seems like 3 season in 3 weeks. Trying our best to pivot and keep on schedule. Our team is pushing thru weather once again today.

Let's start 2024 off the right way.

Train your lawn.

1. Start the season with one day a week of watering. 40min per zone. If you have a large system. Break it up. 3 zones one day 3 another etc.
You can add a day as needed. But you can't take it away. It gets used to overwatering and expects it.

2. Upgrade your controller to a smart wifi enabled controller. Not just for real time weather but for ease of access.

3. Water (cool down) your lawn in the afternoon. Correct, Google and most others will tell you no. But trust me. On a hot sun scorching day. A quick 4 to 6 min sq**rt of water on your lawn goes a long way.

4. Keep your lawn at a decent height. 3 fingers high (business card) your lawn acts as shade for your soil and the water that resides in it. It keeps weeds at bay at this length.

5. Treatment. And not by you. Hire a professional. They come in every 5 to 6 weeks. It's cheaper than you going to the store and buying your own product. It's benefits are well worth it.

Am I a grass expert? I don't know, but these are the rules I live by. I don't overseed, I don't air rate. I do however listen to my lawn. It will always tell you what it needs.

Remember if your not winterized yet. Shut off the water to your irrigation inside your home, open up a zone or two. This will eleviate the pressure from your backflow and greatly reduce the possibility of damage until it's fully winterized.
