To our men and women in uniform, past, present, and future, The NHPA Pipes and Drums would like to thank you and your families. No one fights alone.
Thanks to Honor Flight New England, 3 of our members will be on the flight October 23.
For the past 13 years the NHPA Pipes and Drums have performed for the Heroes at Manchester Airport during their send off to Washington D.C.
A little cloudy but the boulevard was packed for the last day of the Hampton Seafood Festival. John Nyhan and his team organized another amazing four day event and we are honored to be invited every year.
We honored and remembered our fallen first responders and veterans who made the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11/01 and in subsequent military campaigns to assure our safety and freedoms with military and patriotic tunes throughout the festival.
** 2022 Scholarships Announced **
The NHPA Pipes & Drums as started in 1994 following the tragic death of a NH State Police sergeant. The Boston Police Gaelic Column traveled to New Hampshire to play at his funeral. This inspired a group of New Hampshire Police officers to start a NH based police pipe band. In the beginning, this fledgling pipe band gathered at Manchester Memorial High School in 1994 to begin practice and after 28 years is still going strong.
After many years of performing at funerals, memorial celebrations, weddings, parades and retirements this band of brothers have chosen to give back to the community in another way...in the form of a scholarship.
This is the second year of awarding scholarships with 5 recipients being selected this year from out of 80 submitted applications. The scholarship committee reviewed all the submissions and as a group we were impressed with what we received. The task to make the final decisions was not an easy one. We are grateful for all the students who took the time to apply and wish we could support more of you in your endeavor to further your education.
