Here’s are the top things parents do to help relieve their child’s barking cough ⬇

1️⃣ Hydrate
Make sure that you encourage your child to drink lots of fluids like water, juice and their favorite warm soup. This can help relax the throat and ease their cough.

2️⃣ Rest
Enough sleep can help the body recover faster.

3️⃣ Steam Treatment
Warm baths or a humidifier can help provide relief. Steam can help loosen the mucus and soothe the respiratory tract.

4️⃣ Use a Humidifier
During the winter season, the air can get very dry which can worsen the cough. A cool-mist humidifier in your child’s room can help keep their oral and nasal passages moist which can reduce coughing.

5️⃣ Stick to a healthy diet
Make sure to always provide your child with a healthy, balanced diet consisting of fruits and vegetables that are rich in Vitamin C, which helps boost the immune system.

Embracing the multifaceted journey of managing ADHD - it's all about finding the right mix of support and strategies!

Numerous genetic studies suggest a familial link to ADHD, but it is a multifaceted disorder arising from the interplay of numerous genes and, critically, the interaction between genes and the environment. Additionally, several risk factors for ADHD encompass exposure to environmental toxins during pregnancy or childhood, low birth weight, and brain injuries.

ADHD management involves a multifaceted approach, referred to as "multimodal," tailored to the individual's requirements. Depending on the age of the person, this approach may encompass various interventions such as parent training, medication, skills development, counseling, behavioral therapy, and classroom strategies.

October is for spreading awareness about ADHD. Let’s do it together.

Ane in children? Read more to find out why and how to treat! ⬇️

Acne occurs when pores get blocked by dead skin cells and oil. Sometimes, bacteria on our skin also enter these blocked pores.

Acne has various types. One type is called a comedone, which is like a plug of oil in the hair follicle. They can be either closed whiteheads or open blackheads. These types are not red or infected.

Acne can show up anywhere on the body, but it's most common in places with lots of oil glands, like:

1️⃣ Face
2️⃣ Chest
3️⃣ Upper back
4️⃣ Shoulders
5️⃣ Neck

Kids might have different symptoms, such as:

😫 Tiny bumps that are skin-colored or white (whiteheads)
😫 Tiny bumps that are dark (blackheads)
😫 Red pimples filled with pus that might be painful
😫 Raised bumps that are solid (nodules)
😫 Darker areas of skin
😫 Scarring

‼️ Acne symptoms can look like other problems, so it's important to have a healthcare provider check and give a proper diagnosis.

How your child's acne is treated will depend on their symptoms, age, and health. It will also depend on how bad the acne is. The main goal of treating acne is to make the skin look better and reduce the chance of scarring. The treatment includes gentle and regular skincare. The healthcare provider might recommend:

💊 Over-the-counter cleansers, creams, lotions, gels, or other products.
💊 Prescription treatments applied to the skin (topical) or taken by mouth (oral).
💊 Other therapies or procedures like laser therapy, light therapy, or chemical peels.
💊 Draining or injecting medicine into a cyst.
💊 Topical medicines, often in the form of creams, gels, lotions, or liquids, are commonly prescribed.

Embracing consistency even on rest periods is crucial for having a well-rested mind and body.

Adapting a routine of waking up early on weekdays and then sleeping in on weekends disrupts our sleep pattern and confuses our internal clock.

Maintaining a steady sleep routine during the week fuels our well-being— enough for us to show up to our duties and responsibilities at home and at work.

If we happen to experience inadequate sleep on any given night, a more effective way to make up for it is by taking a short nap in the afternoon.

Let us find that perfect balance between discipline and indulgence for a well-rested mind and body.
