Rev. Williams blog this week discusses the teachable moments. Find his blog here on our website: https://www.graceresurrection.org/fruit-bearing-fruit/
"The story of Jesus cursing the fig tree has always been interesting to me. He was always looking for teachable moments. The fig tree event has been confusing for readers of scripture for thousands of years, but if we look at Christ’s teaching style throughout his ministry, it’s not so difficult to understand. It’s important..."
GRMC is excited to once again host a Salvation Army "Angel Tree" in our narthex, inviting worshippers to select a tag and purchase Christmas gifts for a child in need within Cobb & Douglas counties. Tags will be available starting at the Women of Grace dinner on Nov. 14 and every Sunday beginning Nov. 17. Please return all completed “angel” gifts to GRMC by Dec. 4. Together, we can help make Christmas a little brighter for many children!
In prayer for our nation today. 🙏
In our November 3rd service, Rev. Williams addressed a message we all encounter: the pressure from society to define our lives by what we consume and accumulate. In his sermon titled, "It's a Matter of Trust," Rev. Williams revealed how we can break free from this mindset and honor God by dedicating our resources, talents, and lives to His greater purpose. This week’s service featured our Remembrance of the Saints tribute, a meaningful time to honor and remember those who passed this year. It was a truly special day of worship for our church community. On November 3rd, we will gather for our third annual All Saints Day service—a sacred time to honor and remember loved ones who have passed over the last year. During the service, we will read each name aloud and light a candle in their memory. If you would like to include a loved one in this meaningful tribute, please send us their name ([email protected]) to be remembered in this special way.
As Christians, we are called to help those in need. Many people lost their homes and possessions from strong winds and flooding from Hurricane Helene in September. If you would like to donate to help those victims, we have links to two organizations that are currently helping families. Samaritan's Purse https://www.samaritanspurse.org and the American Red Cross https://www.redcross.org/donate/dr/hurricane-helene.html/

In this past Sunday's sermon, Rev. Williams shared a message about the "secret powers" each of us carries within. These strengths aren’t just for reaching the mountaintops of life—they’re there to guide us through the valleys, where God’s power and love are most deeply felt. It’s in the valleys, not merely on the mountains, that we truly experience the depth of God’s presence and grace.

This week, Rev. Williams shares his belief that to keep the Holy Spirit’s power alive among us, we must intentionally cultivate and embody the fruits of the Spirit. This Sunday, he’ll guide us in exploring these qualities, calling us forward in ministry with true love, unconditional acceptance, and a bold witness to the power of our Lord.
