The Stonehaven School is a Christ-centered classical school employing a rigorous academic program.

Varsity will compete against Lyndon at 4pm, followed by JV vs Heritage Prep, Senior Night celebration, then we'll close the night with Varsity vs Heritage Prep. Go Knights!
Upper school art students took a walk in the forrest last Thursday to find materials for a natural element sculpture project. The artists are only allowed to use foraged objects to create a natural sculpture of their choosing. We examined the repetition of God’s design in nature, and discussed how our creator uses repeating themes and patterns in all that he has made. Projects are in progress and can be viewed at the First Semester Art Show later this fall.

Fifth grade enjoyed a special visit from to discuss therapy dogs. In Zoology, students study mammals created on the sixth day. This includes the study of the family canidae (canines) which is easily observed and enjoyed!
PE is in full swing with Mrs. Cooper's K-8th grade classes, Mrs. Corley's high school girls fitness practicum and Mr. Proffitt's high school guys fitness practicum. At Stonehaven, we teach our students that they can do hard things. K-8th students having been working diligently on the Presidential Fitness Challenge. Ask your student how many push-ups or sit-ups they completed. They might just surprise you!

Stonehaven seeks to nurture our students' love of reading by providing a feast of great books and time to read them. The Stonehaven library is home to 5,199 books! Almost 300 were added this summer, with many more on the way.
Art classes began at our Lower and Upper schools today! We are excited to explore the beauty of God in our world and create some amazing art this year!
Art classes at Stonehaven are integrated with the subjects that students are learning throughout their other classes. This means that as students learn about the ancient time period, they are also learning about ancient art or are creating art using similar methods and mediums.
Stonehaven Teachers and Staff enjoyed a sweet treat to finish off our first week back to school courtesy of Nothing Bundt Cakes in Smyrna. Thank you for supporting our school!

At Lower School, Stonehaven's first day began with warm greetings, hugs, and handshakes. We are excited to see what the Lord does in the hearts and minds of our students this year!
Stonehaven's Upper School students enjoyed happy reunions, meeting new friends, and starting the day with worship. These young men and women are well prepared for a great year ahead. We welcomed our newest 7th graders to the Logic School and celebrated the "last first day" for the Senior Class of 2025.
Stonehaven Upper and Lower School teachers and staff have been spending the last several days worshiping together, getting equipped to carry out our classical and Christ-centered mission, and preparing beautiful spaces for our students. We can't wait to start school on Wednesday!
Stonehaven thanks the Summer Crew for their hard work all summer to improve, repair, and beautify our campuses. These student employees, under the direction of Michael Perkerson, painted, cleaned carpets, landscaped, moved furniture and boxes, and many other things for the entire summer. It was a joy to have them on campus, and we look forward to appreciating the fruits of their labor!
The Anne of Green Gables Camp for rising 3rd and 4th grade girls was such a sweet week filled with crafts, dress, tea, and etiquette inspired by the book series. The camp ended with a tea party at Marietta's William Root House Museum.
Stonehaven is jumping for joy about all of our Newest Knights! We can't wait to see all of you in August!
Seventeen Stonehaven students from many churches served alongside new and old friends at Camp Hope last week. We look forward to hearing how God impacted their hearts as they served campers who have an incarcerated parent. Kidz2Leaders

Stonehaven Teachers, Staff, and Board had a great week at the Annual Association of Classical Christian Schools conference, held in Atlanta this year.
We were recognized on stage for achieving accreditation with ACCS, Dr. Hughes delivered a workshop to a packed room of engaged teachers, four Stonehaven students served at the conference, and our volleyball team started the week by helping stuff all the vendor bags.
We are grateful for the opportunity to network with other classical and Christ-centered educators, get inspired in our work, and spend time together.

We are excited and grateful to have Thomas Carrenard joining Stonehaven's administrative team to serve as Associate Head of School!
Thomas served as ACCA's second Head of School from 2007 to 2010. Current Head of School Brett Edwards wrote to our parents and teachers: "I had the honor of being personally hired by Thomas in 2008. As you can imagine, I consider it a truly unbelievable and unexpected honor to hire Thomas as he returns to the Stonehaven community. Thomas is a faithful, God-fearing man. He possesses a deep love for the Lord and has committed his life to serving God and loving others through his work. During his tenure as ACCA’s Head of School, his fervent passion for the school was defined by a devotion to our classical Christian philosophy, a culture of joy, the formation of loving relationships, and a season of remarkable growth. "

Congratulations to Pam Grote, this year's recipient of the Stonehaven Excellence in Teaching Award!
Mrs. Grote is celebrating 15 years of teaching at Stonehaven. Her 3rd grade class is challenging, but students finish with a sense of accomplishment for having met the challenges and enjoyed themselves along the way. She treats students with dignity and compassion while not compromising her high standards for academics and character. She is known for her faithfulness and devotion to students and parents. She is a lover of knowledge and seeks to teach her children to love truth and to see and appreciate what is beautiful. She has that perfect balance of being fun-loving and silly yet firm. She loves and is true to the classical method.

Congratulations to the High School Choir, under the direction of Mrs. Myrick, for their First Place finish and Superior Rating at the Music in the Parks competition at Six Flags Over Georgia! We are so grateful for the way you worship with your voices.
This week our fourth graders had their final Nature Studies class at Stonehaven. They will be taking home their nature journals as a reminder of all of God‘s creation that they have observed throughout their years in the program.
At Stonehaven, it is our goal to train our students to praise the Lord in music often and with skill.
From Beethoven to Mozart and many arrangements in between, the Stonehaven Opry: Lower School Instrumental Music Spectacular was a melodious showcase of musical instruments. 1st-3rd grade learn piano, 4th grade learns recorder, and 5th and 6th learn woodwinds, brass, or strings.
Special thanks to Megan Johnson, Stonehaven's Music teacher, North Metro Music Education's Vaughn Irby leading the band, and April Pettus leading the orchestra.
