From our friends at MAEA, join this FREE and interactive Zoom led by Dr. Lori Santos on July 31, 2024, 10 am-12 pm CT. Explore how to incorporate concepts of environmental sustainability in your teaching, emphasizing our interconnectedness with the environment through the lens of indigenous artists. Dr. Santos will guide us in discussion and art making that can be used in the classroom to help our students gain a better understanding of environmental sustainability and Eco Justice.

After decades of service to the dance community in Missouri, the Missouri Dance Organization's remaining active board members have decided to dissolve MDO at the end of this calendar year. In honor of their first Secretary Lilo Fauman, they are excited to initiate the Missouri Dance Organization Fauman Scholarship as a parting gift to the community. This exciting scholarship opportunity is open to all Missouri dancers and dance educators age 18 and over. The application is available now at missouridance.org and the application closes on Thursday, August 1, 2024.

MDO has partnered with the Alliance to continue the legacy of Fauman's gift in the 2025 and beyond. It is both organizations hope to see current MDO members and all dance lovers continue to contribute to this scholarship fund. From our friends at KC Rep Theatre!

KCRep is excited to offer two Summer Camp sessions in July 2024 for middle school (July 8 – 19) and high school-aged teens (July 22 – August 2). Young performers of all experience levels are invited to join us as we celebrate individuality, imagination, and creativity. Learn about Acting, Voice, Movement, Playwriting, and the fun-damentals of theatre from talented Kansas City artists in a safe, structured, joy-centered environment. KCRep Summer Theatre Camp will take place at the Olson Performing Arts Center, located on the UMKC campus; 10am to 4pm on Mondays through Fridays. Tuition for each session is $500 per student. Tuition assistance is available.
