Hi all,

After discussing things with our Troop Master (Timothy Gauthier), Senior Ministry Leader (Pastor Paul), and the Rangers for our Woodlands and Navigators (Doug Lawty and Tony Braun), we need to cancel tomorrow's meeting, as all of those folks (and myself) have unexpected conflicts -- 'tis the season!

As previously announced, we will not be meeting next Thursday, December 23. However, we will be meeting the following Thursday, December 30.

As I've indicated in prior emails, we still need many more individuals to volunteer for Troop Committee positions and to help out in meetings. For liability purposes, we also need to have those individuals register with Trail Life. If we can get additional volunteers (particularly "direct contact" volunteers for meetings), it will help us avoid the need to cancel meetings in the future. And we will definitely need volunteers when we (hopefully) move into outdoor activities once the weather gets better. Please consider how you can help out in this fashion.

Feel free to bring some games to play if you don't want to play the ones provided. Some snacks will be available, but your welcome to bring your own as well.

Welcome to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church’s Trail Life USA Troop WA - 1959 page!

We are in the beginning stages of forming our troop. We are officially charted and have our core leadership team in place. Even though, our core team is filled, we have several other auxiliary positions that are available. If you are interested in perhaps filling a leadership position, please let Pastor Paul or a member of the core leadership team know!

Our informational night is October 28, 2021 at 6PM here in the Prince of Peace fellowship hall. Our first meeting is set for November 11, 2021 at 6PM.

We are very excited to have Trail Life USA as part of our programs here at Prince of Peace. Trail life USA is an alternative Christian based scouting program. Unlike the BSA which operates as a user group to a church or sponsored chartering organization. Trail Life belongs entirely to the church and is an extention of that church’s ministry. This means, the church owns the troop. They have an invested relationship with it, and the troop is not just a user group of the church. This ownership is a good thing and brings a lot of support from the congregation that hosts the troop. One of the best things though about Trail Life USA is that they have attempted to get back to what Scouting was all about at its core from the beginning. This program is an attempt to go back to what the program was, right down to the appearance of the uniform. Its more about the experience and less about the badges, even though there is rank advancement. Its about growing in character and faith. If you are interested in joining, please let us know. We will be working on getting notifications out regularly and putting out a mailing on our status when our first meeting will be.
