If we STILL can’t find that right frame, we will let you know what to look for elsewhere. I recommend a child’s first eye exam at 6-8 months, then at age 3 and then yearly after that…whether they can “see” or not. Many diseases can show up during an eye exam. We will “pamper” your infant!

Big day tomorrow for the 2024 eclipse! We have glasses and Christina (and God willing I) will be in the office starting at 9a. Looks like it will be at least partly sunny so we should be able to see it. Wear eclipse glasses as you look at it. In my opinion since we are not in totality it is not safe to look at it without those glasses even for a few seconds, even at Its peak.

I was supposed to man the office all by myself. Unfortunately a spinal emergency had me in the hospital over Easter. I worked short days yesterday and today in a lot of pain but I need to close the office again tomorrow, Friday April 5, to go through some more testing. I hate the testing and the illness and having to close.

I am often asked about allergy eye drops. If your main symptoms are redness and scratchiness, try Opcon A. If itching is the main symptom, try Zaditor. For either one , try not to use more than once or twice a day during the allergy season.

I am occasionally asked if I recommend Eye vitamins. I do recommend a gender specific multivitamin. If you have a family history of macular degeneration, then I would recommend PreserVision, PRN, or Ocuvite.

The OCT is almost like an MRI of the retina, optic nerve and cornea. This technology can detect macular swelling, macular degeneration, retinal detachment, glaucoma, blocked blood vessels, diabetes, and so much more…sometimes YEARS before they would appear in photography. An image is captured painlessly in seconds.
