Strawberry blonde 🍓
Her natural color is an ashy light brown. She typically always goes for blonde highlights but this time we switched it up! We made her base gorgeous natural light red/copper base and added a bit of blonde balayage!
If you’ve been thinking about switching up your color this is your sign to go for it! ✨
Scheduling update. Thanks for being the best clients! ❤️
I wanted to give you all an update for scheduling and bridal party bookings! Thanks for your patience! 🤍
Haircut transformation on Jordan Esber 🤩
Have you ever heard the term “reverse balayage”? It means just want it sounds like! Normal balayage paints a lighter color on the ends but reverse balayage paints and blends a darker color from roots down. This is exactly what we chose to do here in this picture!
A reverse balayage might be the right choice for you if:
🟤You want to feel darker while still keeping some light ends
🟤You’ve been out in the sun and it’s dulled your hair
🟤 You want some depth and dimension back in your hair
Would you believe me if i told this is not a natural redhead? 😍 has been just about every depth and shade of red throughout the years but her natural color is actually a light ashy color! 🤯
We kept her base color a light copper to make it really feel natural and then added in some buttery colored balayage highlights ✨
What is your dream hair color? Have you ever wanted to go red? There are so many options! Let’s chat at your next appointment or send me a DM!
3 Things Your Hairdresser Wants You to Know:
📷 Do not be afraid to show inspiration pictures! So many times I hear clients embarrassingly pull out pictures saying “I’m sure you hate this but i pinned these pictures…” We do NOT hate that! We LOVE it! Even when pictures are not the same hair type/texture/thickness, it still gives us a great starting point to understand your hair goals and what you like. And it helps to talk through what may or may not work. Always bring pictures!
🧴Come to the salon with relatively clean hair for coloring or styling appointments! “Dirty hair takes color better” or “Dirty hair holds style better” are outdated myths. Hair color definitely can bust through products and oils on your hair but if asked, I always prefer a cleaner canvas to start with. Especially for blonding services, this helps so that the lightener or color doesn’t have to work as hard to get to where we expect it to. For styling, I always tell people to come how you prefer it! If you like your hair best the first day you wash, that’s totally fine! There are plenty of products that can be used now that will hold your style whether it’s freshly clean or 4 days dirty!
🏠At home maintenance will help keep your hair the way you loved it when you were at the salon! If you’re spending money on color, highlights, root shadowing & toning, you don’t want to turn around and strip all of that out by using harsh shampoos & products. Ask your stylist for recommendations on what products will help keep up your specific color and hair type!
What are some other things you’ve been curious about when going to the salon?
The hardest part about being a hairdresser? Resisting the urge to chop my own hair after seeing how cute a cut like this is on someone else 🤣
I did a poor job of getting a before picture but we cut enough hair for her to donate to .for.kids! If you’ve ever wanted to donate here’s some things to keep in mind:
✂️Your finished cut will be even shorter than the measured cut. There will be lots of evening out and shaping to do so I always give a 1-2 inch estimate shorter than where we chop the ponytails off.
✂️Minimally processed hair is best
✂️ It might be shocking at first but so cute and so worth helping a great cause! ❤️
We finished her cut with some fresh face framing pieces & balayage.
Are you team long hair or short hair? Have you ever donated your hair? Let me know below!⬇️
Did you know, sometimes adding lowlights can actually make you feel blonder?
🔹Yep! Especially with “lived in” color techniques today, hair can start to all mesh together creating a warmer muted tone all over. Adding a bit of the right kind of lowlight can help:
1. Cool down unwanted warmth
2. Give depth and definition back to your hair &
3. Makes your blondes really pop!

My tried and true dry shampoo method💨
Confession: I used to hate dry shampoo! Turns out, I just needed to learn the right way to use it.
(See my previous post on how I get the most time between washes)
Step by step:
✨Always brush and do your main styling (curl, flat iron, crimp etc) first! Most dry shampoos have elements that can dry out your hair and adding heat on top of that is not ideal. Your natural oils will add to the health of you hair when you brush and style first!
✨Shake your dry shampoo as much as you can!
✨Spray in sections until you see white! *don’t forget the underneath! Yep, do not be afraid to see white- this is where the magic happens!
✨Let it “marinate”! Leave it this way for AT LEAST 5 mins. I typically go about the rest of getting ready at this point or even leave it on in the car when I need to!
✨Scrub it in! Work it all over your scalp and roots! This will eliminate the white color and give you the finished voluminous look!

Another great example of a slow and steady transition to blonde! ✨
We have been working her lighter since last summer! She has very thick hair that we had previously colored all over dark so there has been lots of old color and warmth to break through. Because she has been so patient in the process, she’s been able to keep the health of her hair and grow it out while simultaneously going blonde! 🎉
Have you ever wanted to transition lighter or darker but not sure what the process would look like?

Tips for getting the most out of your hair between washes!
🧴Shampoo thoroughly
🛏️Use a silk or satin pillowcase
🪥Brush your hair before bed
🧴Dry shampoo last
How long do you go between washes? Hope some of these tips will help you be able to stretch it longer!
Does this sunny weather have you ready to go blonder? Me too!! A few things to keep in mind when going lighter:
☀️It may take multiple sessions to get you to your goal blonde. Patience is key when going lighter. (This beauty has been working her hair lighter for her upcoming wedding since the Fall)
☀️A root shadow can help tremendously to soften grow out and make it feel more natural if you’ve always been darker.
☀️A good purple shampoo and deep conditioner will be your best friends for maintenance!

< makes business pages and doesn’t post for over a month> 🤦♀️🙃
If you’re a current client, you know how packed my schedule can be so taking pictures at the salon is usually the last thing on my mind. My goal for this year is to change that and take more pictures to post for you all!
In the meantime, my sweet friend took some headshots/ branding photos for me and these two unexpected photos just really felt like the most “on brand” for me. 🥰 When I’m not doing hair, you can usually find me running around or dancing with these two little ones!
