Our very own MCA graduate (Kelsey Halstead) will have her coffee trailer set up (coastal_mountain_coffee_co), and there will be full concessions.

Matthews Christian Academy will be participating in the Matthews Alive Parade today in downtown Matthews! The parade starts at 9:30am and ends at 10:30am. MCA is #66 in the parade lineup.

We are excited to have coastal_mountain_coffee_co with us on August 16th for our Alumni & Friends event. This coffee company is owned by Kelsey - a MCA graduate! Be sure to like, share, and get to know Kelsey and Coastal Mountain below!

1) When did you graduate from MCA?

☕️ I graduated in 2022

2) What inspired you to start a coffee company?

☕️ I am passionate about meeting new people and I love making coffee. Those things go very well together!

3) Why did you choose the name “Coastal Mountain Coffee Company?”

☕️ Coastal Mountain Coffee Co. draws inspiration from the 1,175 mile “Mountains-to-Sea Trail” found in North Carolina. This stunning hiking trail extends from the Smokey Mountains all the way to the Outer Banks and showcases North Carolina’s natural beauty.

4) What were some of the biggest challenges you faced when creating your coffee trailer and how did you overcome these challenges ?

☕️ Transforming a horse trailer into a mobile coffee shop was an enormous challenge! My dad and I converted this trailer with the help of YouTube and many skilled friends.

5) As you begin your entrepreneurial journey with Coastal Mountain Coffee Co., what are some short term goals that you hope to accomplish?

☕️ I would love to promote Coastal Mountain Coffee Co. to our community while also running events and finding a semi-permanent place to park the trailer.

We are excited to welcome you back to campus on August 16! Last year we had over 110 Alumni & Friends attend this special event, and it was a wonderful evening to reconnect with friends and former/current faculty!
Our MCA sports teams will be playing, and our special Alumni & Friends soccer game will close out the evening. We would love to have you attend any games that you are available (free of charge).
We are also excited to welcome the Coastal Mountain Coffee Co. coffee trailer to this event! Coastal Mountain is owned by 2022 MCA graduate - Kelsey Halstead! Come purchase a cup of coffee and support her brand new business!

To our 12 seniors in the Class of 2024 - we miss you and can’t wait to see how the Lord uses your lives for His glory!

A special congratulations to Kellie and Anna as they plan on attending Bob Jones University and Cedarville University in the fall!

Anna plans on studying Ministry & Leadership as well as Kinesiology, and Kellie plans on pursuing a career in education as an English teacher - she finished 1st in North Carolina for senior high English academic testing at the NCCSA state competition.

We are proud of you both! Keep your eye out as we highlight our other seniors throughout the summer!

Today’s random yearbook selection…..the iconic purple 1992 edition! Are you in a picture?

This week is Spiritual Emphasis Week for our Elementary students! We are thankful for the decisions that they have made for the Lord this week! We have about 100 students in our elementary, and about 73 in our middle through high school. We are expecting over 200 students (K4-12) next year! Praise God!

Our Juniors and Seniors had the opportunity to attend a Christian College Fair this week! If you graduated from BBCS/MCA, where did you attend college?
