A lot changed during COVID. During COVID, my Mom (at over 90 years of age) and her senior friends were confined to their Senior Living apartments. Had it not been for Meals on Wheels, many of these residents would not have been able to obtain healthy meals. I was blessed to be able to bring my Mom to stay with me until she was ready to return to her creature comforts, but there were many that relied on Meals on Wheels during COVID and after; even now.

Please support Meals on Wheels, so that seniors, shut-ins, and those that have compromised mobility are able to receive healthy meals delivered directly to their doors.

My Mom transitioned to her heavenly home in 2021, but there are others that still rely on Meals on Wheels.

Determined to do something fun and different this holiday weekend, a friend invited me to paddle board. At first, I thought this would definitely require a specific skillset. Then, I realized that skillset was the desire to have a fun and relaxing time on the Lake Wylie waters …. hanging out with old and new friends, the big water dogs … pontoons, speed boats and jet skis. Meals on Wheels has been instrumental in making sure that a multitude of seniors have access to healthy meals. Many senior citizens are living on fixed incomes that limit access to healthy food choices. Additionally, this same population is often plagued with health and wellness issues that result in limited mobility that prohibits their ability to get to food outlets. Meals on Wheels bridges that gap by making sure healthy meals are delivered directly to their doors.

In November, members of our ONEHOPE Team embarked on a mission with GIVEPOWER to a remote village in La Guajira, Colombia to build 8 solar panels to generate much needed electricity. Right after the ONEHOPE Team arrived at the Amuyuwou community, the children of the village created these signs and performed a couple of their cultural dances to welcome them. Can you imagine that moment and those sweet faces! Not a dry eye in the ONEHOPE crew! THIS is why we do what we do! THIS is ONEHOPE!
