Somehow we blinked and it’s already July! The summer is flying by and I’ve been spending it with some amazing families. I love this modern take on a maternity session that this Mama envisioned and styled so perfectly!

Happy Father’s Day! I’ve met so many incredible fathers over the years in my business - bio dads, chosen dads, foster/adoptive dads, stand-in dads and grandpas and it’s truly been an honor to see you love your family in real tangible ways!

Gwen is 3!!!! I’ve been photographing this joyful girl since she was a newborn. So newborn, 1st birthday, 2nd birthday & 3rd birthday. When I say that the families I work with over & over become family, I truly mean it! It makes me so happy to see her visit the studio every year and see how much she’s growing & becoming her little self.

I was editing this gallery last night and this image stopped me in my tracks and just needed to be turned to b&w. The way Mama gazes at her sweet boy…her smile says it all 🤍

This trio 🤍 I’ve been photographing them since Hannah was in her Mama’s belly (5 whole years). They’ve gone from clients to friends - and Hannah now calls me Ms. Cole and my heart couldn’t love it more.

Carolina! ❤️ I photographed her big sis Camila throughout her first year and loved getting to meet their new sweet baby girl.

This was literally a moment. A brief few seconds. Mom leaned over & snuggled into her oldest & started getting teary eyed over the fullness in her heart.
I had just brought my camera down but as soon as I looked up & saw this, I quickly brought my camera back up to capture it. It was a literal in between moment so it’s not tack-sharp but it’s loaded with feeling that mom is going to always remember & cherish. I’m so grateful that I get to capture moments & feelings like this.

It’s been a bit quiet here as I’ve been feverishly editing all the amazing mommy & me sessions I had last month, on top of my regular newborn & baby sessions. When the editing queue gets long, I dig in and tune everything else out so I can get galleries back to families asap. 3 more mommy & me sessions to go & then it’s back to regularly scheduled programming 😂

Junior 🤍 how cute is that little sleeveless onesie? I immediately added some to my cart for the studio after seeing how adorable it was on this little guy.

Older newborns are babies 1 - 3 months old and I love working with them just as much as brand new newborns. Some families prefer to wait a bit for their newborn pictures or maybe Mama & Baby needed extra time after delivery - and I love being able to provide pictures past the “traditional” newborn photo age. How I work with them and the flow of the session differs slightly, but the outcome is always so sweet & lovely.

I’ve been photographing Axel since he was in his Mama’s belly & it was so fun getting to see them for another mommy & me and with his sister this time.

A few favorite black & whites from Gabriel’s session. I’m naturally drawn towards black & white images but used to steer away from them because I worried they didn’t match my “aesthetic” - but not any more - I love them too much not to share them!

So what do you say - are you a fan of these carousel collages or do you prefer a post with full square images to scroll through?
Personally I go back & forth on it. IG only lets you share 10 images per post so using the collage method allows me to share more pictures, which I of course love.

I’ve had the tremendous honor of capturing all 3 of this family’s adoption stories! And Ben is the sweetest addition to his family and his sisters are absolutely obsessed with him. He’s going to grow up smothered in love.

Heirloom portraits are not only timeless but a perfect way to capture your little’s personality. I don’t want fake, cheesy smiles - I want real expressions & belly laughs.

There’s just something beautiful about the way toddlers show affection - it isn’t scripted or perfect. Instead, it’s raw & honest as express love on their terms and I’m here for it.

If I’ve learned one thing from being a parent, running a small business & my weight-loss journey its that change is never ending. If we want to see progress, then we must embrace change as a normal & positive part of the process. The moment we stop changing, is the moment we stop moving forward. Period.
This doesn’t come naturally to me. By nature, I’m slow to change but over the past few years, I’m learning to get comfortable with being uncomfortable as I change my mindsets, beliefs & methods.
Maybe you’ve already noticed some small changes in the way I’m showing up here on IG. As I’m growing & changing as a person, that will inevitably pour over into this business that I love so very much. So you’ll notice more & more changes for the better as I figure out how to best show up on this app in the most authentic way possible. I hope you’ll follow along 🤍

When the cake smash goes smashingly…
Some babies barely dip a fingertip in their cake while others dig in to play & eat, and then there are some who just smash it to smithereens not caring to even eat anything.

My first son gently touched it & tasted it, but mostly not interested. My second son, dug in and ate it up!

I loved getting to capture her sweet girl’s one year milestone - I’ll be sharing more from the cake portion soon.

After a bit too long of a break, I went to the gym today because…I was starting to feel the rolls I had worked hard to lose, coming back 😩 swipe to see how I felt about it (and getting back to my calorie deficit 😭)
