This week, STC’s Applied Technology in Operations Management faculty delivered impactful training sessions to sharpen skills in customer service and leadership for City of Pharr personnel, including Assistant City Manager Dr. David Friedlein, various managers, directors and supervisors.

Led by Program Chair Dr. Ruben Flores and Laura Garcia, these sessions were designed to enhance client interaction skills and equip participants with the leadership tools needed to lead teams and drive success. 🌟🐆

🎉 Today, STC proudly inaugurated the very first Staff Advisory Council, a new platform dedicated to ensuring that the voices of our staff are heard and their needs met across all STC campuses.

With 30 founding members representing the entire RGV, this council reflects our deep commitment to caring for our employees. ✨ At STC, we believe that when our staff thrives, so does our entire community, laying the groundwork for educational excellence and ultimate success.

The Texas Workforce Commission awarded more than $1.2 million in Jobs and Education for Texans (JET) grants to La Joya ISD, Rio Grande City ISD, Valley View ISD and Vanguard Academy, in partnership with STC, to provide more than 600 students with training in welding and food service management.

For over a decade, the Mission EDC has played a crucial role in supporting nearly 1,000 South Texas College students through its Mission Economic Development Authority (MEDA) annual scholarship. Since 2013, this initiative has awarded a total of $1.7 million in tuition, significantly empowering students and advancing their educational goals.
