Meet Mary Ann Santos, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Santos. You might remember her from her early days working at Santos Taqueria Express at just age 15, where she worked with her family and learned the value of dreams, hard work and perseverance.

Her heart for community led her to public service, a career of almost two decades, where she could make a meaningful difference. She graduated from the legendary Henry County High School, earned her Bachelor's in Criminal Justice at Mercer University (located in McDonough, GA), and Master's in Public Administration at Clayton State University, becoming a first generation college student.

Please join us in celebrating Mary Ann Santos as she bravely steps up to represent State House District 117. Her journey, like that of her parents, is a powerful example of resilience, hope, and perseverance, where big dreams paired with faith and determination, transform into a true story.

Today, we celebrate black history month by sharing inspiration of Kobe Bryant and Gianna Bryant.

Kobe Bean Bryant: nicknamed the "Black Mamba", was an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He entered the NBA directly from high school and played for the Lakers his entire career, winning five NBA championships and being named Finals MVP in two of them.

Bryant already had championships, scoring titles, and MVPs to his name in his two-decade career with the Los Angeles Lakers. Still, with basketball in his rearview mirror, Bryant turned to filmmaking and in 2018 won an Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.

Gianna Maria Onore Bryant: The world, now and forever, knows her as Gigi. Her dad, Kobe Bryant, called her Mambacita. He was Mamba, of course, and she was going to be basketball’s female version of him. She was going to play at Connecticut and head to the WNBA. That was the plan. (NBA.com)
