Introducing your 2024-2025 McKinney Boyd Bronco Tennis Teams! Varsity has their first match next Wednesday, July 31st at 3:30 PM at the Boyd Tennis Courts. Come out and support our broncos!

TRYOUT UPDATE 7/22 PLEASE READ:

The courts at Boyd are currently soaked. The rain has stopped but it will take time to dry. We are pushing everything back 30 mins.

New and incoming players will still have tryouts! BOYS will be 8:30-11:00 am and GIRLS will be 11:00 am - 1:30 pm. Sorry about the delay but we can’t predict the weather. See you soon!

We will see ALL incoming freshmen AND players that are new to the Boyd Tennis Program tomorrow for the start of tryouts for the 2024-2025 school year!

ALL players please remember to bring the following with you the first day of your tryout:

A COPY of your birth certificate (freshman/new only)
A utility bill from July of 2024
Make sure all rankone paperwork is complete
Make sure you have your physical on file on rankone (you can turn this in to Coach Vargas in the morning)
Bring your summer points sheet

Friday McKinney Boyd closed out their year with a BANG at banquet. We are so proud of all the hard work this team has put in over the year. Parents, thank you for all that you’ve done and allowing us to spend time molding your kids. Seniors, we love you and will miss you, but are so excited for what lies ahead for you all! 🤍🎾

JV finished out their spring season tonight. We had some tough matches and we rose to the occasion and played the best tennis we have played all year. Our 2024 Varsity Spring Season has come to an end.
We fought hard the last two days and had some incredible matches, and had three 3rd Place finishes to cap off our 2024 Spring Season. Broncos, we are SO proud of all of the hard work you’ve put in this year. You left everything out on the court, which is all we could ever ask of you.

Your Varsity Broncos finished their Spring Tournament Season with the Heritage Down-to-the-Wire Tournament today. We tied for 3rd as a team out of 12 teams! We had so many close and hard fought matches filled with grit and all the energy we had. When it comes to tournaments, all that’s left is what we have been working towards all year: District.

That’s a wrap on our 2024 Spring overnight trip to the Sharon Wartes Eagle Invitational in Abilene!
38 teams. 640 players. 2 days. With 40 mph winds. It was a tough 2 days filled with incredible matches from start to finish! We are so proud of the hard work and determination of this team. They’ve worked so hard and it’s all coming together at the right time—right before district. We placed 5th out of 38 teams all over the state of Texas which is a huge deal! So proud of this team and how well we placed (out of 32 teams):

It was a WINDY day yesterday for the Lebanon Trail JV Tournament but we made the most of it. We had some fun and intense matches and our girls doubles duo of Katelyn/Gwen came home with 3rd place! Next up for JV is the District Tournament in a few weeks to close out our 2024 Spring Season. Let’s goooo Broncos!

Our JV players played OUTSTANDING tennis today at our MBHS Spring Tournament. We had so many amazing matches and top 4 finishes today that made these coaches proud. The growth we have seen throughout this year from our JV team has been incredible. We are so proud of them! Next week it’s the LT Tournament to wrap up tournament season before DISTRICT!

We had a FANTASTIC showing at the McKinney North Pool Play Tournament. We had a ton of top 3 finishers in our pools and we had some of the best matches of the year so far! This was our last “home” tournament for our incredible seniors. We can’t thank them enough for the blood, sweat, tears, teamwork, and great memories we have had with them on the Bronco Courts over the last 4 years. JV Broncos had their 1st tournament of the season Thursday! It was the perfect day for some tennis and our players had some incredible matches against a lot of tough opponents and played so well! We had a few of our broncos place in the McKinney Boyd JV Tournament:

Our 1st Varsity Tournament of the Spring Season is in the books—and your Broncos played AMAZING considering they only had one true day of practice before this tournament due to the crazy weather we have been having.
As the final few matches were on, we got rained out. Coach O and Vargas saw some truly incredible matches upsetting some seeded teams today, which was truly so fun to watch!

Boyd Tennis shopped until we dropped this week for local Angel Tree families and were able to bring the holiday spirit to 9 children in need. We love this time of year and love being able to help others together. 🤍

The Boyd Tennis and Bronco Soccer Teams collected blankets this week to give to the homeless in our community. SO proud of our broncos for giving to others this Thanksgiving season. Enjoy your break broncos!
