Being designated a state or national historical site is an honor. On Saturday, June 1, 2024, the Ross Cemetary received it's historic designation complete with a dedication from Mayor George Fuller and the research and financial history from Allen Mayor, Baine Brooks. There was a reinactment of the Buffalo Soldiers and a special thank you to Ms. Flo Thorton as Board President of the Cemetery. The public was invited to attend and Mr. Eric Hogue, Collin County Historical Commission presided. For the many local museums in attendance, it was a lovely ceremony with many instances for which to feel great gratitude. , Collin County Historical Commission, ,
