It was 1950 in McMinnville, Oregon.

Evelyn Trent started yelling for her husband at about 7:45 that evening. She was feeding their rabbits in the yard of the couple’s Dayton farm when she saw it -- “like a good-sized parachute canopy without the strings, only silver-bright mixed with bronze.”

“It was as pretty as anything I ever saw,” she recalled later.

She ran into the house, found her husband -- and their camera -- and they raced back into the yard. Paul Trent spotted it too -- “a round, shiny, wingless object” hovering in the sky.

The 43-year-old farmer managed to take two photographs before the flying object disappeared into the evening mist.

They’re the most famous photos ever to come out of Yamhill County. The rest is history.

As a whole, Kathy Stoler (owner) and The entire LaRambla family/crew are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of our Dear friend and coworker Nicole Dell♥️
Her Mother, Marilyn Worrix has stated “It is with great sadness that we tell you we lost my beautiful daughter Nicole. She passed away unexpectedly but peacefully in her sleep. We are heartbroken. There are no words.

She is pictured here with her nephews, whom she loved dearly.”

I wish I could post this on hand pressed paper, written in delicate calligraphy, in true Nicole fashion♥️

Nicole has personalized with every single one of us. She’s an amazing friend, clever and funny, incredibly educated and knowledgeable. Very creative and traveled and cool. She’s thoughtful and helpful. She’s truly been the backbone of LaRambla since the very beginning, LITERALLY! Nicole was Kathy’s realtor in 2002 and sold her The historical Schilling Building, that then magically transitioned and became what is, Larambla Restaurant and Bar. When Larambla opened Nicole naturally became a server, bartender, manager, wine pro, friend, and confidant. Almost a concierge, If you were cold in the restaurant or on the patio, she would create a blanket from table cloths.. to warm you. (we giggle over that one.) she made us homemade gazpacho and deep fried Oreos…she’d mend our aprons for us and she had Jacoby order her extra jars of piparra peppers.. because her Aunt Donna enjoyed them so much. She’d detail out wine tasting notes and Spanish chorizo descriptions in length to share with us. I remember asking her for some descriptive words for a particular wine, she matter-of-factly said, “I describe this one as a voluptuous woman in a dress two sizes too small”

She’s Larambla’s longest running employee and Kathy knew she was always truly there for her, always had her back and best interest and would lend help in any area. Nicole was deeply valued.

When she traveled she always brought everyone gifts, carefully and thoughtfully selected. When we traveled, she only requested we bring a rock or a dash of sand back.

She had a deep adoration of Anthony Bourdain and Tajin seasoning..these things made her heart all a flutter♥️ She shared amazing adventures of her days as a devoted and proud groupie😜

Here’s a text I received from her for a requested day off…lol… never failing to surprise me…

“Are you still doing the schedule? Hoping to take the bros to see Gwar on Nov. 28th.”…

She was a huge humanitarian, with a contagious laugh, an avid book lover and a passionate artist, talented actor and performer, fascinated with coins, and history, and culture, animal lover and protector and loyal friend…

we will miss her so deeply. It’s a sharp pain in our collective hearts♥️

Nicole’s greatest passion was her family… Her Bro’s, her cherished Nephews, we all have countless photos and videos of the bros, she beamed with pride to be their Aunt Nico♥️
Her sister Megan (Dr. Dell) whom she deemed the strongest, most badass person on the planet. She spoke always of how she viewed her sister as strong, tough, smart, and supremely cool.
Her mother Marilyn..whom she always admired and was so proud of. She valued her role to be a caretaking presence in her life.
Her dearest friend and live in companion , Rob. She cherished all he is.

condolences to the family♥️

Nicole often would offer to finish someone else’s shift or closing duties by saying.. “be free”…
