Teepee Road Closure

The Peters Township Sanitary Authorities’ contractor, W.A. Petrakis Contracting, will be working on Teepee Road (between Ammons Drive and Elizabeth Drive) from Tuesday, August 13, 2024 to Thursday, August 15, 2024, weather permitting. Due to the depth of the excavation and its position in the roadway, the contractor will be closing this section of road to traffic during working hours.

The roadway will be opened back up to traffic at night. At night, equipment will be parked on one lane of the roadway and protected with barricades and flashers, allowing traffic to pass in the opposite lane.

Municipal Complex Parking Lot Resurfacing

The parking lot serving the Municipal Complex is scheduled to be resurfaced starting on Wednesday, August 7th through Wednesday, August 21st. The lot will be resurfaced in two (2) separate phases (halves) in order that patrons & visitors can utilize the undisturbed half while the other half is under construction.

All municipal departments will remain open during construction. Pedestrian access will be maintained to all buildings. However, you may have to park several hundred feet away in an undisturbed portion of the lot and walk to your destination. Various signs, barricades, and cones will be in place to guide pedestrians.

Trash Delay & Bulk Pickup Week for July 2024

• Garbage & Recycling will be normal for Monday through Wednesday streets (July 1st, 2nd, 3rd). There is no pickup for Thursday streets on July 4th. Thursday streets will be serviced on Friday, July 5th.

• Bulk Pickup is the first full pickup week of each month. For July, bulk pickup will occur on your normal trash day during the week of July 1st - 5th. Monday through Wednesday routes will be as normal. Thursday streets will be serviced on Friday, July 5th due to the holiday.

Valley Brook Road is closed between Maplewood & Old Washington due to a live wire down. Expect the road to be closed for several hours while the power company addresses the issue.

E. McMurray Road is currently closed for all traffic between Inverness Drive and Candlelite Drive due to an accident. Please avoid this area, if possible.

Monday, May 27th: MEMORIAL DAY - NO PICKUP
Tuesday, May 28th: Monday Streets
Wednesday, May 29th: Tuesday Streets
Thursday, May 30th: Wednesday Streets
Friday, May 31st: Thursday Streets

The VFW 764 Memorial Day Parade Info:

Parade and Memorial Program is on Memorial Day Monday May 27, 2023.

Parade Starts at 9:00am by The Municipal/Library Building and Proceeds down McMurray Rd to Valleybrook Rd and into the VFW Parking lot.

Memorial Service takes Place in the Parking Lot Immediately Following the Parade Procession.

The VFW Will be Open to the Public for the Day.
From 12pm-4pm Ruff Creek Will Perform.
