iDriveMD and the (ATLP) AT Loan Program can help with the purchase and/or modification of a new/used vehicle. SMCIL has a small AT grant that can help too! Contact our AT Specialist Stacy Tobin for more info! Check out Ayanna's success story below!
When Ayanna’s transportation kept missing the mark for drop off and pickups, her family reached out to the ATLP so that they could fund their own adapted vehicle. Read Ayanna’s story here: https://mdod.maryland.gov/pub/Pages/TAPannual.aspx and reach out if we can help you build greater independence!

GivingTuesday is a great opportunity to support SMCIL's Assistive Technology (AT)programs. SMCIL has an AT Loan Library open for tours, demos, and loans. SMCIL was able to host 2 trips to Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating - CRAB in Annapolis this year. Consumers were able to participate in this interactive, adapted sailing adventure. Another program that your GivingTuesday gift supports is our Disabled Veterans Support Network. SMCIL serves our disabled Veterans and their families by hosting a meeting on the 2nd Friday of the month in our office. We provide a hot meal and a speaker presents information related to Veterans benefits in SMCIL's Veterans Training Center. The Training Center is open to Veterans and Consumers Mon - Fri during business hours via appointment. SMCIL's own Veteran Jerry Taylor advises and assists our Veterans with their claims submissions and other needs. Help a Veteran gain more independence by donating to SMCIL at paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1750725 this GivingTuesday!
GivingTuesday donations assist with SMCIL's programs like our Transitioning Youth program. SMCIL works with youth ages 14 - 26 as they transition from middle/high school into post-secondary education, employment, and everyday life. We teach independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, cleaning, stress management, conflict resolution, and so much more! Give the gift of independence for a TY by donating at paypal.com/us/fundraiser/charity/1750725 today.
