The library is so much more than books! Here is one way the library is a place for creativity & entrepreneurship.
The library is excited to announce that we have THREE new databases that can provide assistance for small and large business owners, and job seekers! We now offer access to Gale Business: Entrepreneurship, Gale Business: Plan Builder, and Brainfuse: JobNow.
Learn more about each database at: https://medfordlibrary.org/new-databases/
We are so excited to have Ants on a Log come and perform this Friday, June 21st at 3:30pm as part of their Pride Concert series!
Ants on a Log is a Philadelphia-based trio: elementary science teacher Anya Rose and music therapists Julie Be and Miles Crabtree. Blending their skills has enabled the trio to reach beyond the usual scope of simple songs for children, tackling complex themes and embracing the full potential of a child’s ability to think and feel. Ants on a Log performs music for children and other childlike people, songfully advocating for positivity, social justice, and silliness.
The Pride concert is fun and interactive, with themes of inclusion, self-expression, community, and allyship.
It's Paver Day at the Library! The 2'x2' pavers are sand blasted and then filled with a black ink. We install pavers once a year. Check out all of our naming opportunities at medfordpubliclibraryfoundation.org/donate !

What's your favorite feature of the Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library?
Today is Earth Day, and our favorite features are GREEN. We are proud that the library is a monument to Medford's commitment to sustainability.
The 700-panel solar array that makes the library net-zero (the first in the commonwealth), the bike racks, EV charging station (the first in Medford Square), and the trees and flowers that contribute to the cooling of the city and the beauty of High Street.
The library is not the City's first great green achievement and it won't be the last, but it is a reminder of what we can achieve when we work together. We are grateful to all who helped make it happen. Happy Earth Day!
Thank you Richard Caraviello for your service!

Visitors quickly realize that the Library is "much more than a repository of books".
The Charlotte & William Bloomberg Medford Public Library is the Medford community's answer to the question: What is a library for the 21st Century?
"The community-centered library features dedicated areas for programs and events for each age group, complemented by an array of spaces for the public to meet and collaborate. Musicians reserve group study rooms to practice together; local business owners use quiet alcoves to focus, adult learners use the computing resources; teens participate in cupcake decorating contests and poetry slams; children flock to story time, and seniors learn how to record a podcast."
Quiet please: worldwide libraries that speak up for their communities These libraries-turned-community centres quietly go about their business, revitalising community action from East to West. Featuring Schwartz/Silver..

When we ban books, we're closing off readers to people, places, and perspectives. But when we stand up for stories, we unleash the power that lies inside every book. We liberate the array of voices that need to be heard and the scenes that need to be seen.
