My latest DIY project - quartz bar height kitchen island. It cost just under $500 by purchasing the sideboard from FB marketplace $40, new pine wood legs from Etsy $80, remnant Calcutta grey quartz top from a local kitchen/bath place $350, and some acrylic blue paint, beeswax, silicone sealer, and water based walnut stain $25. I had the k***s on hand (have so many that I couldn't decide!) It took three days once I got all the items together. I really like it and always wanted a stone top bar height island but couldn't afford the $1,500+ price tag!

What is this? It is a decoupage beer label patio table! It was really an enjoyable experiment.

PIANO PICK ME UP - I think many may find painting a piano challenging but this project took only 24 hours, two coats of acrylic paint and an investment in some fabric for the bench. The most difficult part was gently taping the keys. It has since been tested and has been verified to be in good, working order 😀

She's almost done! She's still got wax on her that will be buffed tomorrow, but she is close! I'm really unhappy with the top but gave up and painted it. It is new veneer as the top was so water damaged the wood had actually split. This baby really tried me, but I love her for it.

I absolutely adore this buffet but it is in the worst shape. I have been working on getting it to match the china cabinet I've previously completed. It has been a long painful fight. The veneer is installed to replace the top and I'm starting to move. Got the drawers done today (they just need sealing) and cleaned the hardware. Look how pretty that Bakelite original hardware is! I hope to get this baby done by next weekend and can't wait to show her to you!

Was happy to recieve these photos today showing the RBG set that went to Rutgers' new home 🙂

It got to 50 degrees today so I did a little sanding and filling on the art deco buffet. Hopefully sanding and applying new veneer tomorrow. I'm anxious as I've never done it before and it isn't cheap! Wish me luck!

SOLD - done and ready to be picked up! This 3rd RBG set took awhile longer as I waited for new material as I didn't like the size and the way the original material I designed looked. But now the table top is epoxied and it is a lovely gold and green/blue.

I like this very mustache! It is an antique secretary desk I picked up in pretty sad shape as there was no glass, there was an overhang of wood placed on top of it, and the leg was broken off. I used Vintage Market's Raven chalk paint with gold interior and crystal pulls. The shelves have mustache material affixed to them and the entire piece was finished using silver wax. It still needs one more coat as this wood truly absorbs the wax. I try to take good pictures, but this piece looks so much better in person.

This Art Deco China cabinet is complete!

The other piece I've been working on is lovingly called Big Boy. It is the art deco China cabinet that goes with a larger set I picked up and is themed around the crane velvet and canvas fabric that I upholstered all the chairs in. This same crane design will be on the back, inside of the upper and lower cabinets of the piece. It is not complete so here is only a sneak peak. This piece required stripping some of the wood veneer off and a lot of other mechanical fixes, but is coming along!

The custom table top and drawer insert wallpaper arrived. Will epoxy the top on Monday and it should be completed and ready to go on Friday! So close, yet so far away.

Day 2 on set 3 of RBG. Two coats paint, one coat gold wax and the chair is getting a flourish attached. The hardware has also been cleaned and reattached. Waiting for the table top print to be able to epoxy and finish!

This RBG set, the third that I'm doing, was pre-purchased and customized in gold and Dixie Belle's Duck Egg green. It will be finished with gold wax.

Christmas Gifts this year. I dropped these pieces off to family and friends that I love today so it's safe to post them. I hope each piece reflects the friend or family member that received them.

I've completed six of the 8 chairs of the dining set I recently picked up. Here you can see the before/after for one of six of the side chairs and one of two of the end chairs. I am truly in love with the velvet on canvas crane fabric. It is gorgeous. Otherwise, two coats of Raven black chalk paint by Vintage Market and a coat of bronze wax with only minor chair repairs.

Cut off the overhang on this secretary desk/bookcase side by side piece today. Also gave it the first coat of paint inside and out. I haven't decided what I will do with the door, perhaps glass, maybe material, stained glass? Who knows?!

Rented a truck = $108 and picked up all the below for $125. I've cleaned, inspected and removed shelves and hardware from some pieces already. I will be the first to admit, most need so much work and, due to my desire to keep the Art Deco waterfall pieces somewhat within their original glory, will learn to work with veneer for the first time. I hope you are surprised by their individual glory and beauty when I am done as I have already fallen in love with each and every piece here.

Exciting News for this RBG set, it has found its new home at Rutgers Law School in Newark. I think it has found the perfect home!

I received this email this morning: "It is very nice to meet you. We are very excited to have this piece housed at the Law School. Rob and I are going to consider some space on Friday when we are both in the building (we are currently working remotely) and get back to you on where we will place the set. I can work with you after that to arrange for drop off."

This dining set found its new home (pictured below) with a family whose grandmother worked for J.B. Van Sciver (the furniture maker of this set). It will be well loved and looks beautiful in their home.
