Medford Middle School Swimming

The first week+ of practice has went great. What an amazing group of girls!

*I also wanted to note a correction to the schedule, there will be no practice on Sept 4, due to the holiday.*

So excited to start the season! Practice starts tomorrow, Monday Aug 21, 4:00-6:00. There is still time to invite any friends who would like to sign up!

Friday, October 14th end of season party at MASH pool. 3:45-5:00. Come for open swim, games and snacks. Please spread the word.

The girls rocked it at the conference meet today!! We placed 5th out of 12 teams. They originally scored this meet incorrectly and we got notice today that we indeed get 5th place. And most of the schools we beat are significantly larger than we are. Not to mention the fact that we did this with 14 girls and 7 of them have never swam competitively before and another 4 who have only swam 1 other season either M**S or club. I included a picture with almost all of the swimmers there to give you an idea of how many kids are there.

The following girls placed in the top 6 today and brought home some hardware:

200 Medley Relay - 3 out of 30 - Mylah Hamland, Sophie Sperl, Kodi Rappe, Tori Nicks

200 Freestyle - 3 out of 31 - Kodi Rappe

50 Butterfly - 5 out of 31 - Kodi Rappe

200 Freestyle Relay - 4 out of 32 - Olivia Emmerich, Sophie Sperl, Tori Nicks, Mylah Hamland

50 Breaststroke - 3 out of 44 - Sophie Sperl

400 Freestyle Relay - 4 out of 22 - Mylah Hamland, Olivia Emmerich, Sophie Sperl, Kodi Rappe

These girls showed a lot of heart today and racked up some additional compliments from coaches. They worked really hard!

Please review the email about conference tomorrow if you haven't yet done that. The bus for conference leaves at 7am sharp. Tonight is our last night of practice and lockers must be cleaned out. I need to know ASAP if you plan to take your daughter home from the meet Saturday.

We have a busy last week...Tues, Oct 4th home meet begins at 4:30. Saturday, Oct 8 conference meet Mann. The departure time is NOT correct on the schedule. Departure Saturday is at 7am sharp. More info to come on what to expect for this meet.

Thurs, Sept 29th meet Everest. 4:30 start. The bus WILL stop to eat on the way home. Please send $ for your child to eat!

Reminder: Practice done at 4:30 tonight because of home highschool meet. Girls are welcome to stay and watch. Meet starts at 5:30. Tonight is also pizza fry pickup after the meet!!

Sept 20 is an early release day at school. But our practice is at the normal time of 3:45-5:15. Girls can hang out in the highschool sands and do homework and have a snack until practice starts.

Back in action...tonight at DCE. Girls are doing awesome! And they were so good our bus driver bought them all ice cream cones on the way home at Briq's!! Well done kids! Medford Middle School

Tomorrow night we will walk in the su***de awareness walk in memory of our teammate Samantha. Practice ends at 5:00 and walk begins at 5:30. Please let us know if your daughter needs a ride to the park. Walk ends at 6:30! Families welcome to join us.
