Corey And Robustelli Split Wins At Iron Head Sprint Series Opener At DCDT

Roseburg, Oregon- The Iron Head Sprint Series fired up their 2023 campaign at the Douglas County Dirt Track on Friday, May 12th, and Saturday, the 13th. The event was the first time since the 1990s that the Roseburg 1/3-mile clay oval had hosted a dirt race.

On the first night of the competition, Blaine Cory obliterated the competition in the Brandon Govenor-fielded entry. Cory would lead all but one lap during the main event on his way to his first Iron Head Sprint Series victory.

Camden Robustelli, in the Stacy and T.J. Winningham-owned car, was the runner-up, while third place went to Johnny Burke. Jared Hood and Dave Hibbard balanced the top five in fourth and fifth.

On the second night of action, Robustelli would rise to the occasion. Camden passed Jared Hood for the top spot in lapped traffic on the twenty-third trip past the flag stand. He would take care of business the rest of the way to win his fourth career IHS triumph.

Jared Hood was a respectable second, with Steven Snawder behind him in third. Johnny Burke posted a fourth-place result, while Dave Hibbard again was fifth.

The Iron Head Sprint Series will take the rest of the month off before going to Willamette Speedway on June 9th and 10th.

Iron Head Sprint Series Ready To Kick Off Sophomore Season; Visits Douglas County Dirt Track On May 12th And 13th
Roseburg, Oregon- After a long winter offseason, Iron Head Sprint Series competitors are ready to fire their engines back up on Friday, May 12th, and Saturday, the 13th. The site of the first battleground will be at the newly minted Douglas County Dirt Track. It will also be the first race for the facility, which converted to dirt from asphalt.

This is the second stint that the track has hosted a dirt surface. The last time was in the mid-1990s and lasted just one season. Front Gates will open at 4:00 PM, with Racing kicking off around 6:00. Tickets both days are $15.00 for Adults, Juniors (13-17)/Military/Seniors $10.00, and Youths (6-12) are $5.00. With our 1st inaugural race for the 2023 season coming to Roseburg for a 2 day show I hope everyone is excited as I am. With a lot of great sponsors behind us. I have something special that will hopefully help all the promoters in promoting our series and getting fans to the stands.

This weekend I would like to ask all drivers and crew to be on point as far as car appearance driver appearance and crew Appearance. We will be shooting a commercial with all the drivers highlighted at this next race.This is a chance for you to look good in front of all your sponsors. So when the commercial gets done the tracks can have a commercial to broadcast To their local social media and so we can get more fans in the stands.

I would ask that all drivers try to get friendly with all the fans that come through the gate to make their experience as memorable as possible. All this stuff goes a long ways in assuring our success and for the tracks wanting us to come back because it is a win win for all of us. we are truly entertainment and they understand the value and want us to come back.

Again we will be shooting for a commercial this weekend with live footage from everybody that's at the race. This is to help us develop a commercial that gets the audience pumped up for any time the our series is coming to town.

Hey everyone! Our season opener is fast approaching and we would like to throw out a question to see how everyone feels about allowing a sub driver. Unfortunately to doing our best we didn't get all the tracks to not book a race on our scheduled days. It look like we have possibly 2 races that conflict. We also know that some things just plane come up and are out of our control. So just want to get your opinions on a sub driver rule.
